It's a low-key, well run market with a wide range of vendors and products, all of which are high quality. The vendors are friendly and informative, always willing to talk about what they have and how it can be used/fixed/eaten/consumed. It's unpretentious and makes me feel very welcome and the quality is top-notch.

I enjoy wandering around, shopping and talking to all the of vendors. There is a great selection of veggies, baked goods, eggs, meats, flowers, etc...I try to support the Tuesday Farmers Market as much as I can. It is so convenient to where I work and having it during the work week saves me from having to drive back in to downtown for the weekend markets.

Fresh foods grown and prepared by local area people. I prefer to support individual growers and producers rather than chain stores. It boosts our economy and helps to keep us healthy. Also, there is great community among the merchants and customers. Win/win

Each vendor is committed to wholesome, local foods.

I was pleasantly surprised when I stopped by the Houston Farmer's Market at Rice University last Tuesday. There were atleast 30 vendors that ranged from locally grown fruits and vegetables, wine tastings, live music and gelato. I have read a few articles about the markets and was curious as to what "all the hype" was about. I would definitley go again and recommend you stop by. My surprise of the night was that the farmer's, themselves were selling their goods. I asked plenty of questions and no one seemed to be annoyed. The effort was worth the drive.
