Our market is small but packed with punch. Local organically grown fruits and veggies at really good prices. Our farmers are really aware of substainability and community.
Plus there is always great music and eats-we are small but sweet!

This is the best way to save our planet, by supporting small, organic farmers who are providing the most nutritious and delicious food available. Buying locally not only supports our farmers, it saves gas and is a wonderful way to begin the weekend.

This is the freshest it comes; picked that morning as the sun is cresting the horizon. Local here truly means local! Where else can one shop where he / she knowsthe farmers and the locale from whence comes the food?

The market builds community - people actually interact with each other as opposed to just sitting on Facebook all day... :) and we can buy produce from the hard-working folks in our area who grow it in our strange little climate that we love.

Nevada City supports organic farmers and has for years. We have local organic farm suppliers, local organic and grass fed meat, stores that sell local produce, and schools that have organic gardens providing fresh produce for school lunches. Nevada City Farmers Market provides a venue for organic produce, flowers, food, and local music! It's the best market around with the prettiest setting in downtown historic Nevada City, surrounded by the Sierra foothills.

I grew up in Nevada City and the land lay fallow. 30 years later, there are thriving farms all around the city. The market gives me the opportunity to give back to the farmers what grace and beauty they have brought to Nevada City and the surrounding area. They allow me to live "close to the earth".

Its the best market I have ever been to. Our farm sells at farmers markets all over & that mkt does such a good job of making sure only family operations with the highest quality produce sell there. Plus the customers are so down to earth. They are definite foodies and they know how to cook and how to use ingredients but they are also humble & are happy to utilize bruised when its available.

I totally support the concept of local grown produce, especially organic. I want small farms to succeed. I love the atmosphere of the Nevada City Farmer's Market in particular. I love the morning picked freshness, the welcoming stands, the location, I love the square with the cloth awnings so you can sit and eat and drink and enjoy local musicians. It is a happening place to meet your friends and do your shopping while you get to know the people who actually grow the food. It is down home and personal. I love it!

Why the Nevada City Farmers Market is special to me:
*The range of organic produce and other foods displayed reflects a deep commitment to the community's health.
*Booths presenting positions on a range of current social issues are welcomed.
*A children's section embraces the interests of our upcoming generation.
*The Market site is incredible - integrated harmoniously right in town and not relegated to the hinterlands.
