The OB Farmer's Market Is very "Busker" (Street Performer) Friendly. They Also have a Corner With Amplified Music thats coordinated weekly with live music of the street performers and local bands. This is the only Farmer's market that does not "run you off" for exhibiting you "art" of music and embraces the freedoms of our nation, like our 1st amendment rights. WAY TO GO OCEAN BEACH!!!

This market is unmatched by any other in San Diego. I've experienced the Farmers Markets that are considered the best in town and I have to say...OB's is the hippest, funkiest, and amazing market it's lack of pretentiousness and it's flavors will tantalize your taste buds, and stimulate all your senses, while putting a strut in your stride and a smile on your face! Tips: bring a small bills (if you can), comfortable shoes, a large bag (your gonna need it) and an appetite too...cause the food alone will stop you in your tracks...I love the fresh mango's and raw peace pies and the fruits and Cactus from the older couple next to the OBMA Booth and the "Middle" cross walk...the best oranges right now...yum!
You name it fabulous and unique...you'll find it at the OB Farmers Market..the shops in OB are pretty cool...if you have time...the boutiques are just as eclectic and cool as their wonderful Farmers Market too!

The impressive OB Farmers Market is welcoming for all ages. Each Wednesday it offers a wide variety of foods to eat right there on the spot or tons of always fresh produce, nuts, breads, desserts, etc. to take home and enjoy for the week! It is well layed out and each vendor's wares are easily accessable from the broad sidewalk. We love how happy, friendly, and knowledgable the vendor's are about their products. There is always wonderful and diverse music by local musicians, various sized Hula Hoops to try and buy (they'll even ship them for you!), and the best sage and incense vendor anywhere. All I've mentioned represents only a small variety of what you'll find there each week. You can also find unique art work, dynamic local framed photography, crystals, jewelry, hand crafted hats, leather belts, clothes, OB specific merchandise, fresh cut flowers, native plants, and even a bouncy house and llama rides for the kids. Set your alarm right now for Wednesday at 4:00pm and come see for yourself why we love OB's Farmer's Market so much!

Because its one of the best street markets in San Diego.
Wednesday comes alive with the smell of tulips and sandalwood, fresh bread and piping hot kettle corn.
Hawkers and traders peddle their wares.
The sounds of the strolling minstrels and drummers are so evocative that you might think you are part of a modern day renaissance faire.
All of OB comes out for Farmer's Market, it's our way of paying respects to one another.
And because it shows that this small old-time beach community and bastion of counterculture holds on to its values.

As a child, we always had lots of home grown organic
gardens, as I grew up and worked and raised my kids,
I was conscious of good health & nutrition for myself
& family, now that I am a "senior", I have gone back
to my gardening, organic roots, and because my son &
grandson both have organic gardens and encouraged me
also to grow one, & both my sons "dug" it for me &
spent a long time in the heat making terraces and placing lovely local Anza rocks as borders, and I love it. I walk out the door about 10 feet, and pick
my food now, NO GMO FOR US! My grandson makes his living on good local home grown gardens and we are all
much healthier, and encourage everyone to buy local,
and build a garden, you can even do it in pots, if you
haven't the land!
Every Senior could most likely not visit the Dr.'s so much, if they were more aware of the food and the increase in food value by eathing fresh healthy veggys
and fruits
Thank you
Judy Lee

I also love the 70's retro atmosphere that is there, it's nice to return to that once a week and relax & have some mellow fun. You can be yourself, dress & act how you want.
It is also like going to a free concert every week, with bands as good as Santana, to belly dancers with live music, Reggae, bagpipes,Surfers. The beach is right there, great pier to walk down, incredible sunsets.
The best fish tacos I have ever eaten, delicious African food, the baked goods are fantastic.
Now the Arts & Crafts, Look in all the little nooks & crannies for some of the most beautiful crafts , from talented people who should be discovered by galleries & merchants. Incredible woodwooking, beadwork wall decor, unbelievable psycedellic beadwork, if you want original, one of a kind huge boho earrings, rings, statement necklaces,go look at the crafters side alley, art creations with peacock feathers, leathers, ethnic beadwork. I love the OB Farmer's Market. It is a very large market so there is a lot of variety of different types of food; veggies, fruits, jams, fish. There are amazingly unique arts and crafts booths. There is live music to enjoy. There are a lot of fabulous fresh food booths as well as restaurants to sit and relax with a drink for a bit. It's close to the ocean so you can walk along the beach after shopping. People are friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed; it is my favorite Farmer's Market!

The OB Farmer's market is fun and fresh with ever changing music and events plus I love that they have added vendors and always something for the kids! It's easy to find quality organic produce and I love getting to know the farmers!

I grew up in OB and went to PLHS. You can get fresh veggies, fish and flowers and then go have a beer at The Sunshine. I love OB.
