In addition to being able to buy fresh vegetables, fruit, baked goods, flowers and granola, I look forward to running into friends and vendors at the Clark Park Farmers Market. Community (aswell as healthy, tasty and good food) is what it is all about! The vendors are friendly and kind. I look forward to going to the market to hear about the lives of some of the vendors (who is sick, what happened to a nephew) The vendors have become part of the community of West Philadelphia even though they may travel 2+ hours to get here. The market adds to the already wonderful community that exists around Clark Park.

It's our local market and it's awesome; this is what one is supposed to do when these 2 factors combine.

Great quality and variety. Next mix of farmers as well- Pennsylvania Dutch farmers, local high school students, urban farmers and local small family farms.

Its gorgeous local produce, bakery, meats, and flowers. Its wonderful mix of farmers, from urban high school students to rural Amish. Its great buzz of community and diversity, with every race, class, gender, orientation and political philosophy, not to mention every breed of dog, all friendly, and located in the beautiful neighborhood park. The CP Farmers Market is the nicest place to be in the whole city, and that's saying a lot.

I love having such an abundance of fresh and local foods available to me year round. The variety available is wonderful, as is the number of vendors at the market (they each have different things only adding to the variety of foods!). :) I love being able to buy nearly everything I need each week at Clark Park rather than having to go to a grocery store.

Because it's a great way of building community between food producers and food consumers. It attracts a broad demographic of users, from people with few food dollars looking for good value, to more affluent people looking for the best, freshest, and most unusual foods. And it is the best place to meet and greet your neighbors every Thursday and Saturday.

Clark Park farmers market has the most extensive array of produce, meats and cheeses that I have ever witnessed at an East Coast farmers market. As a proud member of the West Philly community in which this market is located I fully support and enjoy walking down to Clark Park and shopping each week.

It's a social center for the neighborhood. And, by blending into a beloved community park, it creates a tangible, pungent sensation of a rural oasis in the midst of a city. What a stress releiever!

I visit the park weekly to add fresh items to my regular Philly Breakfast House menu at 5355 Woodland Avenue. I am able to offer my customer fresh Chicken sausage, Veggie Scrapple and fresh local herbs. The prices are competitve and the customer service is outstanding. In addition the market is a great place to network, weekly I find local high school students that are interested in culinary arts that I am able to share my experiences with.

Because the park is the hub of a very diverse neighborhood, the farmers market provides food to not only many ethnicities, but also the range of classes. There is really good quality high end goods, but also simply affordable fresh produce as well. While good organic locally grown produce is often out of reach for many low income families and individuals, especially those in urban areas such as Philadelphia, anyone can afford something at this farmers market. Even EBT foodstamps are accepted making healthy food accessible to everyone.

The Clark Park Farmers Market is located in wonderful Clark Park, which is a huge, beautiful urban park that encompasses two full city blocks and includes playgrounds, a dog park, basketball courts, and a large amount of green space with walkways. The farmers market is a wonderful addition bringing fresh food of many varieties to the West Philadelphia area. There are all sorts of vendors, and everyone is exceptionally pleasant. HIGHLY recommended.

The selection of produce, meats, cheese, herbs, and desserts is fantastic. Even better, though, is the chance the market provides to participate as part of an active neighborhood community every Saturday morning.

Great food and fun. For the highest quality produce at extremely reasonable prices. Introduce yourself to John Glenn (dark hair and muscular build), he will go out of his way to suggest great dishes with seasonable items. He is part of the reason we return week after week.

I have been visiting the Clark Park Farmers Market for the last 5-6 years. Each year it gets better and better, though I do miss some of the farmers that have moved on (i.e. His Kids Dairy & the Quail/duck guy). This weekend I attended the farmer's market in Headhouse square. The location was awesome, but I really didn't think it beat Clark Park. The Vendors are very friendly & helpful. I always recommend developing a relationship w/ the vendors....they are always eager to help. Often I'm able to get the "cast-offs" for my rabbits for free. I rave about Clark Park FM on my rabbit forums. Really the best...beats Headhouse in Philly & anyother market in Chgoland area!!!!!!

Clark Park brings great fresh local foods to a community that is diverse in ethnicity and income levels. It also brings a sense of community to this neighborhood and enhances both the health and welfare of the people who live there. In addition, the connection that the people who shop there make with the farms who participate creates a wonderful farm to city partnership.

Besides the great organic and transitional produce, flowers, meats, baked goods etc., this market is a great experience of the neighborhood. Neighbors mill about chatting, and the park is full of activity - musicians, artists, and games of all kinds. You could spend the day, and many do.
