There are wonderful food stands and fresh fish, pesto, bread, crepes, etc. are available. This market also offers vendors of unique clothing, colorful table linens, jewelry, glass, etc.

When my daughter was living in San Diego, she took me to the Hillcrest Farmers Market for Mother's Day. We had a fantastic time eating yummy crepes, buying fresh organic produce and spending the day together in a vibrant, happy, happening place! I have special memories of that day. I love San Diego and Hillcrest Farmers Market is a special part of this fantastic city! Peace & Blessings.

One of the things I missed the most of living in Northern Ca was the local markets. Once I moved to San Diego I longed for a farmer's market truely focused on local independent farmers, artisans, and restaurants.
How happy I am to have the Hillcrest Farmer's Market! I love the variety of items available, the friendly staff and high quality of business. Truly the Best farmer's market in San Diego. Even the best I've found in So Cal!

It is by LOCAL folk, for LOCAL folk.
By supporting our local trades we are supporting our local community.
Face to face business is what really makes this market special.
By owning and running our own businesses we control the quality of our lives.
Corporate machines have their place in our world- that will never change- the farmers market circuits are where every member of their community can invest in themselves and each other.
Do not send your money to investors in a far off town! Shop local!!!

While it is not comparable to SF Ferry Bldg or Santa Monica markets, the quality and diversity of the vendors is exceptional and the sense of community there is extraordinary. When the "egg man" died, there was an outpouring of sympathy...and his photo is displayed weekly by his successor. I always felt as if I'd gone to church every Sunday morning after seeing the display of God's bounty.
