They have donated tons of leftover food after the market to Bread for the City, a local food pantry.

Great location at the West End of Alexandria. Helps to have it on Sunday and the hours are ideal--not too early and not too late. Good variety of vendors--all are customer oriented and friendly. This farmers market has quality produce and products.

The West End Market has transformed the energy and community of West Alexandria. In the short time of its existence (I think two years), the market has helped to build a sense of community in the West End, provided a wonderful venue for neighborhood sharing, interacting with community members and of course great food and vendors. This is a wonderful market and we go almost every Sunday.

I have seen it grow since it was just a few vendors and even fewer people shopping until now: a bustling place, where vendors, farmers, artists, musicians and families (and pets) meet and meet again, hugs, recipes and conversations in Spanish and English flow evenly. The West End of Alexandria was in DIRE need of community-driven events, and this market shows that its possible to reshape the face of suburban America. I love my West End Market and thanks to those who made it possible.

It's located in a spot that encourages walking to the market for a lot of nearby resisdents. It consistently has a great selection of products. I'm able to get all the fruits and vegtables I need for an entire week. Also some delicious cheese, eggs, and quality meat for extra treats! Almost forgot to mention the beautiful flowers. A highlight of my weekend and a great way to start my week.

I was born in D.C., and have lived many years of my life in Alex., and always loved the Market Square Market. Living in Old Town at the time, I felt the market was really for the neighborhood. I think Alexandria residents should have more than one option- the city can and will support both.

The venders have wonderful, in season products. I especially love the fruit choices. Further, one of the florists provides roses to visitors. What a wonderful treat for people.

All the vendors are very nice. Tom Tompkins, the Amish Cheese man has the best and freshest Amish cheese and items. The flower gentleman gives a rose out to many people who don't even stop to buy flowers.

The West End Farmers Market is a lovely way to spend a summer morning. Not only can I shop for the freshest and juiciest fruits and vegetables for the week, I can get bread, pastries, muffiins, jams, jellies, gourmet condiments made in Virginia, Virginia wines, and organic free range meats. I always treat myself to a glass of fresh orange juice and a muffin. I usually see someone from my neighborhood and get to hang around and chat for awhile. It is just a lovely community market.
