I lived in Alcona for many years and loved it. My job was in Iosco County so moved closer to my job. I have family in Alcona and try to support the county activities when-ever I can. The Alcona County Farmers' Market has a wonderful fruit and veggie selection. The prices are fair and their presentation of their products are very good. So many friendly people and a pleasure to shop there.

Love the people and the fresh products. Thank you! We need more of this type of thing in Alcona County!

Fresh-Organic-THE BEST produce I have ever seen. Friendly vendors/farmers who really have your best health in mind. I am there Wednesdays and Saturdays and always have my hands filled with the amazing veggies, herbs and goods.

I love buying product fresh from local farmers. The produce is better than what I see at local grocery stores and I know it is fresher. I see new products and the farmers are willing to share with me how to cook the product and recipes for using the product.

I like the locally grown produce and flowers. I like supporting the local economy. I have grown to expect certain vendors be present. I plan menus around the produce that I purchase. The vendors demonstrate tremendous pride in their offerings.

I support the concept of self-sufficiency and this Market encourages that along with an emphasis on organic, safe foods with a minimum of additives.

Because it supports our local farmers and provides the best home grown vegetables, fruits, meats in the area. I don't want to by anymore garlic brought in from China. I love the family farms in the area. They are what makes this area so wonderful throughout the year.

Since all produce is locally grown, you know exactly where your food came from. Vendors are very friendly and willing to share their tips on growing and using their products. Other products sold at the market (baked goods, flowers, lotions, bird houses, wood products), are made locally and add to the diversity of the market.

Alcona is an impoverished county. Today's economy has added to the number of unemployed. The farmer's market is giving locals a chance to buy and sell locally grown produce which not only gives its residents an opportunity to buy produce that is fresh but puts $$$ back into the local economy.

We love the ACFM because of the local farmers who sell there. They are warm, enthusiastic boosters of the area, and their crops and products. No matter how busy they are, they take the time to educate us on their techniques, triumphs and challenges. Some are so engaged that they remember to ask "how did you like those [snap peas, heirloom tomatoes, eggs] last week?" or "what did you end up doing with the berries you bought on Saturday?" How can you beat that? The market is relatively new, but the hard work of the farmers and organizers has made it a booming success!

The products are all from Alcona County, and there is something new every week. The produce is always fresh, there are many good products, and the grass-fed beef, pastured pork and free-range eggs are all local. The vendors are all willing to answer your questions.

I live in Ill. and summer in Harrisville. There's no where as grand as Harrisville and it's friendly, helpful, informative lake and farming community.

We don't live close enough to visit the market except just once a year but we really do enjoy the fresh fruits and vegetables when we are there! The reason we support this is it is a good for the local economy and it continues to bring the community closer together! We hope the market continues to grow and that it will be there for many years to come!!
