It has a great variety of wonderful vegetables, local crafts and homemade preserves, honey etc. All of which are hard to get here in Alaska even in the summer. It also provides a great social activity - like a party/picnic every Saturday afternoon and Wed evening. It's fun and it supports the local economy.

Come on! The atmosphere, the farmers who are growing in the some of the harshest growing climates out there - these folks are the best! And, the food is incredible.

Homer's Farmers Market has grown tremendously since I move here 4 years ago- Each year more and more people are learning the benefits of eating and farming healthy which creates a positive- HEALTHIER environment! The Market is small in size- the local crafts, warming conversations, and bountiful crops makeup a euphoric destination.

Fresh locally-grown produce, fresh locally-caught seafood, great locally-made crafts, and sometimes the marimba band. Plus I get to see everyone I don't see during the rest of the week.

This market is offering a venue for families to do small scale truck farming as a family business and make a good living, aside from them offering fresh, high quality, locally grown produce to our community.

Being as far from the major food producers as we are, it is very important to set up a local food chain. Plus, it is really fun seeing all the local talent and items that are at the market.

Growing luscious veggies in the North is a hard job. The Market helps us come together and support sustainable enterprises that are creating a vibrant and juicy community, while we encourage the farmers. We dance, play, eat healthfully and inspire each other creatively.

It has great fresh veggies, crafts, baked goods and a wonderful way to meet friends or make new ones. The veggies are fresh and not loaded down with a bunch of pesticides or artificial fertilizers. The cut flowers include the local wild flowers, which make them even more personal. There is frequently entertainment for families and children, even a puppet show. It is a wonderful endeavor and an asset to our community.

Because living here, at the end of the road, the veggies available at the grocery store are often stale, squishy, bland, and $$$. People in Homer are growing beautiful veggies from the local earth and coming together twice a week to share with the community.

I like that this market gives small business people: gardener's, artists, crafters and cooks a chance to show and sell their work in a venue that supports getting to know our neighbors better. The market's intriguing, colorful, friendly atmosphere builds a stronger community. It's a great place to shop for quality, local products.

This market has the best produce in town and most times is competitive with our local grocery store bringing us value as well as fresh veggies to our market. It has a home town feel and offers entertainment and kids activities as well as an information booth. A great place to meet neighbors and visitors!

Because it has the most beautiful produce anywhere and the most dedicated farmers anywhere! It also just so happens to be the most perfect picture of a community that a person can describe. There are activities for youth, music for all, good, healthy food, everyone talking and sharing. It's like a social festival every weekend. Nowhere else in town can one find that kind of unity. It's what everyone dreams of when they dream of having a caring, supportive community. It's perfect!
