At $33 a week, I thought I'd give this CSA a try. That was over six months ago and during that six months, my family's life has changed. Completely. For the better. No kidding.

Instead of searching for decent produce at megastores or making a huge effort to get everything we need at the Farmer's Markets, all we have to do is answer the door on Thursdays. It's all there, like a Christmas gift from Santa.

We bring the box to the kitchen and look over all the items grown just for us. At first, we didn't know what half the contents were. What do you do with kohlrabi?

Along with the box of produce, Paul and Aurora add a list of contents, a recipe or two, and a story about their week and life as farmers in an urban environment, trying to do the right thing for all humanity.

We use the recipes, find more online, laugh and enjoy the stories and really, truly taste what we're eating at every meal. I don't think I've ever focused so calmly on what is on my plate before.

After this long, even my relatives can see the difference in our attitude and our health, and our fat content. Every one of them compliments us on being better than they are, and every one of our friends want to get their own CSA box.

I hope they do - it's not a big commitment and it's truly, honestly fun. I know what to do with kohlrabi and I'm proud.
