We recently ordered 1/2 of a bison. The price was good, and we have a freezer full of DELICIOUS meat. The bison is lean and VERY flavorful, as well as tender, even the steak that I like medium-well. And really, the taste is out of this world. Even better than our last one. My cholesterol goes down alot when I eat bison. We could not get any for awhile when our last one ran out, and my report was not as good. Back to bison, thanks to Battle Creek Bison! We plan to try some of their other products in the future.

There are a lot boutique farms springing up in the area with astronomical prices. This is not one of them. You just get real good grass fed meat at a reasonable price. It tastes great and it's good for you. I call ahead and the Kummrows are often able to accommodate after-hours farm visits so I can make purchases that fit my work schedule. They also don't require you to purchase in bulk. So if you just want to try out their wares drop buy and buy a single pound of ground meat or some steaks (bison or beef, and sometimes pork) and see how you like it. Just remember that lean, grass fed meats need less cooking. Medium-rare is just right and so are the folks at Kummrow Farm's Battle Creek Beef & Bison.
