This comprehensive market has something for everyone, promotes education on local environmental issues, and has re-invigorated a languishing part of downtown. The Ferry Plaza Market rocks!

Terrific displays and wonderful products for shoppers. Atmosphere is so inviting and tastes are given for some of the vege/fruit. Huge market with a good variety of fresh vege/fruit. Well displayed , plenty to see. We go from Vallejo ferry and it is so enjoyable each week. There are art fanciers not far from the market of fresh vege/fruit/ and various fresh products that make you want to come weekly : )

As much as I like the City atmosphere, I love the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market! Not only does it provide fresh organic produce, but there are so many friendly and hardworking merchants who travel from around the Bay Area. Not only can you find produce, you can find entertainment with lively music, colorful artwork and affordable fashions and finds. There's a mix of sophistication as well as ecclectic aura whenever I shop at this Bay Area treat.

The Ferry Plaza Farmers Market has the most amazing cornucopia of fresh produce and local foods! The farmers are always incredibly helpful and eager to educate the public on ways to cook with their foods. Also, the remodeled Ferry Building is just gorgeous and one of San Francisco's jewels that attracts both tourists and locals.

This landmark market is a major food and culture event. It has become seen by some as too high end and elitist. The prices can be high, yet the quality is always several steps above anything else. The vibe of the market is most often welcoming and engaging. IT brings people and food and health together, naturally.

For the past six years I have only shopped here and introduced visiting friends and family to the delights of buying from and supporting their own area's farmers market. Quality not quantity; respect for my body and soul; responsibility towards your local community and the world in general; sustainability and supporting these local growers and not large corporations are my reasons why I support all my local farmers markets!

This market has a huge selection of the best produce, cheese, meat, nuts and anything else you could possibly want to eat. Each stall is carefully labeled with information about the farm/producer so you know EXACTLY what you are getting and where it came from. No need to ask the farmer if he uses pesticides or synthetic fertilizers, it's clearly posted at his booth. This market also has wonderful cooking demos every week and an amazing e-newsletter complete with recipes for seasonal produce that I continue to enjoy even though I moved away from SF nearly a year ago. I miss my bi-weekly trips to the Ferry Plaza Market!

I've been going to the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market since before it was at the Ferry Plaza bldg and it is still the best one I've ever been too. I've visited Farmers Markets all over the country, including LA, Santa Monica, NYC, Washington, etc . . . . and none can come close to the breadth and quality of foods available at the FPFM. Even after traveling all over Asia and Europe the FPFM is always the place I look forward to getting back to first whenever I return. It's Awesome!

It's the best place to buy fresh produce and more. The vendors are great, knowledgeable and dependable. You just can't beat the taste of fresh produce that hasn't been shipped half way around the country. The farmers take pride in their hard work and I'd rather have them reap the profits than some grocery store. It's also a great place to occasionally see TV chefs and personalities. The best part is seeing local chefs, week after week, buying their produce from the same vendors as me. The flavor of the fresh produce says it all -- you just don't get those flavors from the grocery store.

I get to San francisco twice a year and I always make sure I arrive early on saturday to get to the Fantastic Ferry Plaza Farmer Market. I enjoy the fresh drip coffee and the wonderful pork Sandwich they are just to live for, I really envy the farmer market you got there as here in Canada we have to get so many crafter as we do not have the weather or the variety of farm you get in the states even if I love my Whistler and Vancouver Farmer Market I just adore the Ferry terminal in San Francisco. see you in September and then in January for the Fancy food show.

Ferry Plaza Farmers' Market is truly five star! There are many not to be missed "treats", such as pullet eggs from Stan at Petaluma Farms; fragrant basil and super sweet onions from Chue Moua; colorful peppers from Happy Quail; pears and peaches from Al at Frog Hollow; international and raw milk cheeses from Sue and Nan at Cowgirl; and heirloom beans from Steve at Rancho Gordo. We do all of our shopping--except for cleaning supplies and paper goods--at the Ferry Plaza Farmers' Market.

We used to live in San Francisco but now live in Nevada. We always plan our trips to the city so we can attend at least one of the Ferry Plaza Markets. Now that so many of the places we enjoy have a spot in the building or at the market it is a way for us to get a one stop fix!....Taylors' Refresher from St. Helena, Frog Hollow Farms from Brentwood, The Gardner from Berkley, etc. The best produce, delicious food, exspansive variey of products, great newsletter, ever evolving markets, very green and all at a wonderful, bayside location. Love and devotion by many folks, in many ways are obvious every time we are there.

I love that all of the market vendors are organic or pesticide free, local, and striving for sustainability. The waste wise program that encourages market-goers to recycle and compost most of what is purchased at the market is ground-breaking, as is the ban on plastic bags. Most importantly, the California bay area is blessed with an incredible bounty of fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy, and more all throughout the year.

To me this is absolutely the best location. Not only do they offer an abundant variety of fresh fruits and veggies, they got flowers, jams, baked goods, and much much more! It's at the heart of San Francisco and got some much going on in this area. Walking distant to the EC shopping center, park, watch the ferries pull in or just take stroll along the Embarcadero. Take in the scenic view, breathe the fresh air, and relax. This is the best location for a farmer's market.

fresh organic unique produce. Every week I find something new. month of june - candy cot apricots; mid-june to mid-july different varieties of blueberries every week. last week was the first arrival of outdoor grown heirloom tomatos, mostly the yellow varieties such as taxi but if I got there early enough, I could have gotten some black prince tomatoes. Currently, I'm enjoying some fresh dark oak honey, and fresh capping honey. In late July, early August I expect to be enjoying champagne grapes. The same applies to the fall, winter, and spring months. I know the vendors and their produces and when to expect the different varieties. I never would have been aware of this cornucopia of food and flavors if it hadn't been for the SF Ferry Building market. And I've been to many farmer's markets across Canada and the U.S.
