Great, fresh food at a fair price
By: Scott Nielsen    (Jul 8, 2017)

As a frequent visitor to the Farmers Market in South Bend, I am fairly familiar with the various vendors and their products. Being totally focused on organic, I have found the Richert/Phillips Farms products to be of first class quality and always the freshest. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and always willing to take time to answer questions and provide additional information. They are one of the vendors that I SO look forward to visiting with on Saturday mornings.

These guys do a great job - Very Honest, also!!
By: Sandi Paul    (Feb 14, 2016)

I attend the Palatine Farmer's market from Spring to Fall each year. These guys are my absolute favorite and I am very Fussy about the food we purchase. The food tastes great and these men (and likely their families) do a great job bringing wonderfully fresh produce to market each week. I have not joined the CSA because I like to pick out my own varieties of food to purchase each week. Their prices are very fair and the food is high quality, organic produce that is always fresh. It's so sad when the weekly market comes to an end in October, as we really miss purchasing our food from them.

I don't typically write reviews, blog, or comment on things, but their food and their ethics merit taking the time to comment about them online.

CSA is an exceptional value
By:    (Sep 27, 2015)

We are signing up for another year of CSA with Richert Phillips... This was our first season and we have loved it. They do a great job balancing a selection of basics each week with a few surprises and treats. I've been pleasantly surprised how well the CSA box meets our weekly produce needs, to the point that I've seldom had to supplement mid-week with grocery store produce. I was also surprised to get such a wonderful variety of fruit, which many CSAs do not have available or you have to buy separately. We've had blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, peaches, melons, grapes and several varieties of apples. We have eaten very well this summer and have frozen a few things to use later. Everything is beautiful quality and perfectly fresh and they are always happy to provide tips if, say, you're not sure what to do with kohlrabi. We look forward to picking up our share each week and will miss it at the end of the season. Can't wait for next year!

Love this CSA!
By: Kate Scott    (Aug 21, 2010)

This is our first year with a CSA, and it has been a great experience. The quality of the produce has been the talk of the lunchroom at work, and the quantity is able to last the week without overwhelming or underwhelming us. Great experience!
