Reviews for: Alstede Farms

This is our 3rd year with Alstede CSA and have no plans to change it. Here is why it is worth it: 1) awesome produce for 32 weeks of the year that is local and sustainable. 2) they introduced Harvey last year which lets us modify the food we will get - we review every week and take out things we don't like and add more of what we like which further reduces food waste. 3) with your CSA comes free farm admission. Especially this year this was incredibly valuable because my family is still avoiding indoor places (for anyone reading this in the future: COVID virus transmission is higher indoors as of this review) I admit I found CSA a bit hard to keep for my family the first year but now i'm a pro. Every Thursday when we get the produce I wash and prep everything. Also plan menus accordingly throughout the week - proud to say this year we threw out only some radishes due to our bad planning.

Every single experience I have had at Alstede has been negative. I have returned only because I forget after a couple of years. I would love to purchase a csa here but due to the rude staff, over priced produce, and the general self righteous environment I can't bring myself to support this business. Yesterday I stopped in to purchase blueberries and ice cream for my son. The girl working the ice cream stand was SO rude to both me and my son. One of the guests had his dog standing on a table we are suppose to be eating off of. Just disgusting! And your blueberries were ridiculously priced.

This is our first year using the Alstede CSA and the variety,quality and service are exceptional. The staff goes ot of the way to address any questions and make sure the client is satisified. The abundance and quality of the CSA baskets is fantastic! We will defintely be doing it again next year
