Being somewhat of a 'city girl' I was a bit hesitant about local grown beef. I mean, how could anyone beat what comes out of the grocery store butcher shop? Grass fed? Yuck.....But of course, I became enlightened as I started reading up on beef....both lot fed beef and grass fed beef....May I suggest that anyone who reads this review to study up on their beef, as you will then understand why local is better and grass fed, like that offered at Laughing Water Farm, is best.

I purchased both the rib eye, Filet Mignon and a roast (that I have not yet tried) from the Laughing Water Farm and was in for such a surprise! The Filets were so tender that I could actually feel the difference in my hand before cooking. Both the Rib-eyes and the Fillets were robust in flavor and fork tender, that I knew i had a winner! And how blessed I am that this farm is in my own hometown!

I have had several and it doesn't matter whether I cook these on the grill, in the broiler or in a grill pan on top of the stove - these filets and rib-eyes are amazing. ( I'll have to post a later review on the roast.)

The meat comes shrink wrapped frozen which means you just throw it in the freezer until you are ready for it! Which makes for a quick meal for unexpected guests - just make a salad, put in a few baked potatoes and you are done! The shrink wrap also protects the meat for a longer period of time than just throwing what you buy from grocery butcher shop to in the freezer.

In short....(though this seems like a long review) I would recommend these to anyone! I want to go on record as saying that the Laughing Water Farm beef is, by far, the most delicious beef that I have EVER eaten.....I have eaten Filet Mignon at the Ruth Cris Steakhouse and this was even better than theirs and I thought that was the best I had ever had!

I have enjoyed all the products from Laughing Water. The beef and lamb get rave reviews from friends and family.
