Reviews for: Poplar Wood Farm

This is my first year joining Poplar Wood Farm CSA. I have previously joined another CSA. Poplar Wood always gives me a fantastic variety and plenty for the money. Their veggies are so fresh that there is never a problem with it going bad before I can use it. If I have any complaint at all, it is that sometime my share has a substituted item for something on the list of food in the shares that week. But it is still good and fresh and tasty so I do not feel short changed.

In the Hoboken / Jersey City area we have many choices of local farms given the number of Farmer's Markets that have popped up over the years. But I have to say, none, imo, are as good as Poplar. Aside from the fact that their veggies, greens, tomatoes, eggs, etc are always fresh and delicious, Al and Claude make you feel like one of the family. The staff are always so knowledgeable and helpful. They've walked my bags to the car, shared recipes with me and even kept an eye on my toddler while I shopped. They are very mom and pop, which to me, is was buying local is all about. I look forward to my visit with them every Saturday (and sometimes on Thursdays). Thanks for all that you do and we can't wait for this season to kick off.
