I support my Farmers market, I enjoy going there on my Sunday mornings, as soon as you walk in people are soo nice and friendly, it's like family, you see the same faces week after week, there's music in the background, samples of all the delicious foods, I always know I get the freshest veggies and fruit from my farmers and good prices. I know their there in the rain or shine. HOT or raining their there, and that's why I love my Farmers Market, their dependably!

Just moved to the area & this market is a breath of fresh air. Fresh produce locally grown, and fabulous variety of ethnic foods cooked to order; & live music to shop by!

The Encino Farmers Market is a nice combination of local farmers that include everything from vegetables, fruit, cut flowers and live plants to fine cheeses and fresh fish. Local vendors provide live music and great tamales and other treats. Best of all, a percentage of the profits go to the seniors and children's programs.

I go to the local farmers markets for many reasons ... To learn more about how my food is grown and gets from farm to table. I feel the food is more nutritious (which may, or may not be true). I feel good about supporting local farmers, cutting down on my footprint and I find great organic produce and cheeses all that usually taste better than the organic produce at health food stores. I also enjoy the people and believe strongly in supporting the revolution for fresh organic food - as seen in the documentary Food Fight! Going to the farmers market inspires me to get back in the kitchen to whip some creative dishes.

Buying local and supporting the growers who are selling their food. Organic and or unsprayed high quality veggies and fruit and other yummy treats. Always a friendly family oriented atmosphere.

The location and the variety of fruits and vegetables. I feel that Sunday mornings are like an adult Disneyland. My favorites are all in one spot, and I load up my arms and enjoy the variety of great organic fruits and vegetables that are avilable. I also look forward to the tasty samples. Many times I end up with a large purchase based upon a tastey free sample. GROW in size and maybe add a second day, perhaps an early evening on Wed. FAB- JUST FAB-

Van Nuys has its OWN farmers' market; Encino has its. We've worked hard to get the one in Van Nuys up and running.

Though not the largest, most star-studded or the most gourmet area market, this little gem satisfies almost all our household's weekly food needs. The market has many organic sellers, sprouts, salad greens and herbs, fresh breads, excellent fruits and nuts (and not just the customers), exotic Asian and Latin American produce, and Mediterranean specialties such as olive oils.
There are the usual distractions such as tchotchkes, jewelry, candles, face painting, and a moon bounce, but they are easy to avoid. Vegetarians may want to skip the prepared food area since the smell of dead chickens on spikes can be overwhelming, and lately we've noticed dead fish for sale too.
Parking is plentiful and easy if you can navigate the rude and inattentive drivers. The market is also very close to bus lines and bike trails.

Going to the Farmers Market on Sunday's with my family is an excellent way to spend time together. Not only will you find beautiful fruits and vegetables, you will also find many other items like clothing, jewelry and great little tricycle's for kids. There is great food and great people and the best part is that a portion of the proceeds go to ONEgeneration to help support the wonderful services they provide to the seniors and children of our community. If you have not had a chance to go I highly recommend it! Enjoy!
