It's definitely worth your while to drive a teeny bit further to Savage Gardens if you're staying in the southern part of the Lake Champlain Islands. This is the kind of farm you feel great about supporting and the kind of farm stand that makes it all worthwhile. It's neat and clean, the produce is fresh and flavorful, and it's always stocked with a wide variety of farm food. You really could make a full picnic dinner or lunch from here if you're biking through or planning to watch the sunset.
Plus, it's adorably funky with hand-painted signs, beautiful flowers, and lots of old farm 'stuff' around. Everybody's friendly and I think you can call ahead if you're looking for something special (cuts of meat, raw milk, fresh cilantro pesto). If you're staying longer, I think you can buy a 'debit card' from them so that you don't have to bring cash each time. Highly recommended!
