Shopped there for years, then moved to NY state. Nothing like it here. I miss it.

Montclair Farmers Market in Oakland is great, and the atmosphere is great-farmer's markets foster community involvement, cooperation and pride, and get people out of the house to meet and get great produce and food.

I can always find a variety of fresh items for salads and entree, delicious local fruits, and snacks or lunch too. So glad to keep my dollar local and see vendors face to face instead of a sterile, empire of a giant superstore.

I support local, organic farming and families, and like to invest in the local community and keep processing and shipping out of my food. These markets have great variety, fresh and varied items, and an interesting and fun shopping atmosphere. Haven't been to a large grocery chain for produce in years.

The Montclair market, the DMV lot market (on Claremont), the Friday market on 8th St. near Broadway and the Grand Lake market are all different yet wonderful. Music, samples, mostly nice vendors, great atmosphere! The Afghan food is delicious!

I support the Oakland Farmers Market because it helps keep the dollar local, helps us have less impact on our environment and contributes to a healthy, happy community.

I love my vendors! The quality of the produce is excellent, the prices are reasonable and the farmers are anxious to tell you about there wares. The best bread comes from Brioche Bakery in San Francisco and the Oakland market is their only East Bay venue. The pretties field grown flowers come from Segura's Coastside Flowers in Half Moon Bay. Have a nice breakfast at Cafe 817 before or after you shop.
