Farmers on the Square (FOTS), the weekly farmers market in the square in downtown Carlisle, is a great place to get local fresh meat, cheese, produce and other goods. Everything sold at this market is sustainably produced and locally grown by the 25+ vendors. There are usually musicians performing, and the market offers activities for people of all ages. I've seen massages offered, cooking demonstrations, face painting for the kids, etc. Many of the vendors offer samples of their wares... Don't pass by the award-winning cheeses without a taste or two. And one vendor always brings their big trailer barbecue and offers freshly-grilled organic free-range chicken. Their chicken tastes even better than it smells, and it smells great all around the market. Enjoy your chicken as a picnic on the grass as you enjoy the music and activities. The market accepts EBT and debit cards. Come by any Wednesday between 09 May and 19 December this year (they move indoors for the winter).

The food is grown/raised locally by people we can talk to and get to know! Grass-fed beef, pork and lamb plus free range chicken are available from local farmers.

I'm one of the farmers and it's the ONLY producer market in the area. What a REAL farmers market should be.

The Farmers on the Square are a great addition to our town. They are bringing to Carlisle fresh produce for the community to purchase. I just love having them in town within walking distance.

Farmers on the Square is a unique addition to the downtown. I think it hads a distinct flavor to Carlisle. I have heard many rave reviews in the short time they have been open.
