My family has been a member of the Sandhill CSA community for four years, and it is one of the best decisions I have ever made. The produce we receive is consistently top quality and abundant. My kids are learning the value of eating local and healthy, as well as all of us learning how to try and use new recipes and flavors. They also partner with other local providers for dairy and meat shares, which we have tried and enjoyed in the past. We look forward to our pick-up day every week during the season, and are happy to be participating in a winter frozen produce share this year as well. Proud supporter of Sandhill Family Farms!

I've been a member for many years, and have always been impressed with the quality, quantity, freshness, and handling of the produce. Over the years they have refined their offerings, and it's only gotten better. They communicate well and reliably each week, and pickup has improved further with the addition of refrigerated trucks. The workers at the pick up stations are always cheerful and accommodating.
Extras like the ability to purchase bulk tomatoes at the end of the harvest are a nice feature, and the addition of dairy and meat shares was welcome. I've discovered some great local cheeses, and the fresh butter is wonderful. The lamb in 2014 was excellent, and I hope they continue offering it.

Been a member for many years. Good variety of produce that is so fresh and clean. Zucchini that pops when you bend it, varieties of tomatoes so lovely and sweet, green beans with a crunch, leaf lettuce so pretty it reminds me of a bouquet, new baby potatoes and carrots that are sweet and firm, fall squash so fresh it stores for more than a month. I find it fun to find out what Sandhill has harvested each week for my share. The eggs have a fresh, rich flavor and last a very long time in the fridge. The fruit share is very good with sweet seasonal offerings. The dairy share also has a nice variety of specialty cheeses and very tasty yogurts and butter. I also ordered a lamb share this last year which was excellent and nicely packaged. Try Sandhill- You won't be disappointed.

Sandhill Family Farms is a delight. I've been a CSA member for many years now, and am proud and pleased to see them grow from a fairly small business to a much bigger one that has spread its wings out into various towns beyond Grayslake -- they even are delivering their mouth-watering veggies and other food to various corporate locations! I have nothing but high praise for the produce. Luscious, large, fresher than fresh and beautiful to see. But even more beautiful is eating just-picked vegetables that are sweet and plump and full of vitamins since they were picked only a short time before you come pick them up. Plus it's fun to be introduced to new varieties, since they always have something new each year of interest, besides the basics. I highly recommend this CSA.

This is our 5th year with Sandhill Family Farms. Our first CSA adventure was with Jeff and Jen Miller and when they became part of Sandhill we came along with them. We do three seasons of vegetable, eggs, and a season of meat. We love the variety of vegetables they offer along with the tips and recipes for preparing them. The eggs are such an improvement from what you find in the grocery store and the cuts of meat in the meat share are outstanding. We would highly recommend a CSA share with these 2 families.

2015 will be my 4th year with Sandhill. I get 3 seasons of veggies, year-round eggs, on/off with dairy and fruit, and supplemental tomatoes. The eggs' flavor is beyond any you'll find at any store, and I find that where eating eggs from a store more than once a week upset my stomach, I can eat these eggs frequently and feel healthy and energized. The veggies are diverse, well-packaged, intensely flavorful - compared to grocery stores, clean, & fresh (not to mention, organic and local). I strive for a paleo-style diet so I'm not as consistent with the dairy & fruit, but I wholeheartedly recommend those as well. My puppy LOVES the Sandhill carrots, but won't touch the organic baby carrots from Costco (that I used to purchase over the winter). That definitely tells me something. Thanks Sandhill families, for being a great partner in my health improvement journey!

The Sandhill staff and produce is unequalled in their quality of produce, careful and fresh packaging, and all around care for the food they produce. My family and I can feel the love of their land and their work through the fresh variety offered every week. I am so thankful that I found this farm to provide me and my family with lovely local veggies. We are so healthy thanks to Sandhill! Plus the staff is so friendly, knowledgeable and ready to serve. They have an amazing recipe collection, too!

This is our 4th year with Sandhill Family Farms CSA and we love it! Their produce is so much more fresh and economical than grocery store organics and you never get bored with the variety. The recipes are helpful too. I have recommended them to many friends.

We are going into our second year now with the Sandhill Family Farm Share, we love the variety of vegetables and the weekly newsletter including recipes for this weeks delivery. Everything is fresh and the amount of food is almost more than we can eat in a week so we have to invite friends and family over to help! Can't wait for the Spring shipments to start up again. I love that we are eating organic, locally grown foods so doing something good for ourselves and our community.

We have been Sandhill CSA members since they first starting offering a CSA. We love it! Joining this CSA has changed how my family eats, and helps us eat more vegetables than we would otherwise.

Great variety. Love the recipies for the items received (since not all the produce I am familiar with). Family feel, invites to see the farm and eat together.
