I agree with all of the previous review. I would add that these are pesticide free pumpkins. We see Farmer John several times each year for pumpkins and sunflowers and maybe a visit with his wife Eda and dog Clementine. They also sell produce at the Half Moon Bay Farmers' Market on Saturdays.

This is truly a family farm, where John and Eda do the work and sell the produce. They're wonderful people to boot! This year he's grown a tunnel of vines and sunflowers to walk through - a fun added touch.

Our family discovered Farmer John's Pumpkin Farm a few years ago and we're hooked. What a wonderful place to take your kids and show them where pumpkins (and gourds, squash, etc.) actually come from! It's a refreshing changes from the ubiquitous "pumpkin patches" that have no connection to the land where the pumpkins were grown (and just want to take your dollars). Farmer's John's variety of pumpkins is amazing. Your whole house will look festive in the fall season, and then you can eat them! Look on his website for good recipes and make sure you ask him which pumpkins he recommends for cooking. One last tip, bring your camera with you to the farm. Farmer John is an expert sunflower grower too!
