Our family became members of Groundworks at the start of the pandemic for the Summer-Fall season of 2020 and have continued to participate because we value their attention to excellent quality, safety, variety and care for us and the organic produce they include in our shares. We appreciate the extra nourishment for our bodies, souls and the Earth and the opportunity to know the people who are planting, caring for and harvesting our food. It has been fun trying new foods and different combinations than we would without the variety that Groundworks provides. Thank you, Margaret & Kevin!

I?ve been getting this CSA for years. The fruits and vegetables are always interesting and very fresh. Variety from box to box and year to year is excellent. The farmers, Margaret and Kevin, have great customer service and are very friendly. The little farm store they have when you pick up your CSA share has a good selection like local honey, milk, pasta, tofu, granola, and even flowers. I highly recommend this CSA!

Getting our Groundworks CSA is the highlight of our week. The quality of the food is exceptional and we're happy to support such a loving and thoughtful family-owned operation. Kevin and Margaret are so wonderful. This is our second year doing the CSA and we expect to continue for many years to come!

CSA day is my favorite. It's always exciting to get the box home and open up what we'll be eating for the next week or two. My husband and I are always always grateful we have the privilege of supporting such a beautiful family and eating fresh and delicious food.

We're about to start our 18th season with Groundworks farm. We've been doing the winter/spring and summer/fall shares of produce and eggs for 9 years. In 2020, we added a regular size meat share. Groundworks has been providing our family of 4 wonderful service and superior produce from the time our kids were in middle school, to them both being in college. We enjoy the freshness and variety, and it's fun to shop the farm store for additional treats. I appreciate the recipes and trying new things. We supplement as needed from the store or farmer's market and share things we don't care for with neighbors.

We have received the Groundworks CSA (produce and egg shares) for four years now. Our CSA pickups are always a highlight of our week. The Groundworks folks are all friendly and helpful. The produce and eggs are always fresh and delicious. The contents of the produce shares are varied and thoughtful. We could not be more happy with our CSA share!

We have had the Whole Farm share for over a year and love it. Margaret & Kevin are very friendly and nice to work with. During this pandemic we really appreciated how much care they took to make sure distribution was safe. Our produce has always been fresh and in excellent quality. And we've really appreciated the information sheet that they provide in each box, describing the produce, storage suggestions, and even a recipe. The cheeses are very good and in our house are always gone within a day of getting it home. And we really like types of meat that are offered - its a lot. And being able to pick up in Arlington is so convenient. We're a family of four, and while we still go to store for somethings (bread, spices, some additional produce), I would say the Whole Farm Share covers the bulk of our produce and nearly all our meat, eggs, & chicken each month. I really can't say enough about how much we love this CSA.

I love Groundworks' diversity of produce. In addition to the normal products, they often have something more unusual. I enjoy that and have been introduced to produce that I had not been familiar with, like watermelon radish & sunchokes.

I pick up in Arlington, and have a whole share. So I get wonderful eggs, chicken, cheese, and meat. I have been able to get chicken livers in my meat share.

In light of the Corona Virus, Kevin and Margaret changed their pick up procedures very early in the spring in order to help keep everyone safe. The pick up already is outside, but additionally:

---they now pre-box the produce (in new clean boxes), and pre-package other items in order to minimize interactions between customers;

---they lay out waiting spots 6 feet apart, to keep people socially distanced;

---they wear masks and gloves, and encourage their customers to do the same;

---no payments are accepted at the pick up (payments are online) in order to minimize face time

We have done a farm share with Groundworks for several years now, and always look forward to stocking our fridge with the beautiful fresh produce. There is a good variety from pickup to pickup, and usually an opportunity to order bulk as well. We also 100% recommend the egg share-organic grocery store eggs can't compare to the flavor.

I want to commend Kevin and Margaret for adapting the farmshare pickup so well during COVID. The pickup procedures felt considerate and completely safe.

This summer was my first time doing a CSA and I found Groundworks Farm via a google search. I could not have been more pleased. Granted, I had no idea what to expect and no comparison but I loved this CSA. Margaret and Kevin are wonderful people and they went out of their way to make this experience work during COVID. They extended pick up times, pre-packed shares while still offering us choices at each pick up (every 2 weeks, which I actually liked), and their "farm store" was always stocked with EXCELLENT varied offerings. I actually just signed up for the winter CSA because my summer experience was so great. The produce is excellent, with a lot of variety, and very good quality. Plus on more than one occasion I had a question regarding what to do with a certain item, or how to store it, and Margaret always had an answer. Highly highly recommend this CSA.

My wife found Groundworks Farm after another oganic farm relocated out of state. My family is getting ready to start year three. Margaret and Kevin treat everyone with the utmost respect all the time, regardless of the weather or how they may be feeling that day. The produce, chicken and meat products are of very high quality. The amounts of produce, chicken and meat products are well worth the price. The variety of product is excellent as well . Margaret and Kevin continue to look out for the consumers placing procedures in place for our safety.

We did a few CSAs in the area before finding Groundworks and wished we could have found them sooner. Love the year round service and the amount of produce you get worked well for our family of four. The crew are really flexible and made us feel very welcome every time we picked up (love the cookies). When we couldn't make a pick up, they made it super easy for our friends to pick up instead. We liked the 'pick what you want' system (never got tired of the same produce like we had in other CSAs). Overall, great people, prices and produce. We are moving to a different state and hope we can find a CSA like them there.

This is the first time my husband and I have joined a CSA and we couldn't have loved it more. I was always looking forward to know what we would receive for the week, and I absolutely loved trying new dishes with the produce provided. Being a part of the CSA has changed the way I cook, and Margaret and Kevin are so helpful - even including recipes for what to make with the week's share. You can see and taste the difference of the fresh eggs, and the meat is wonderful too. We also really enjoyed the market every week - from cashew butter, to apple chips, to butter, and even the dog bones that my pup couldn't get enough of. If you live in the area, I couldn't recommend Groundworks more!

Our family absolutely LOVES this farm share. This is our first time doing a CSA and we were a little skeptical because we thought we'd be eating rutabagas, beats, and kale all season which wouldn't fly with my 7 and 10 year old. But the variety of produce Groundworks puts together is truly impressive and varied. And my family has never eaten eggs like this either - the orange yolk of the fresh eggs Groundworks provides are seriously delicious. My kids were anti-egg before Groundworks and now eat them regularly and happily. The meat and chicken is also phenomenal. The cuts and options for the pork, beef, and lamb keep us from having to supplement at the grocery store and are so yummy. All organic and local so we feel great about where our food is coming from plus it's neat to know the farmers who are growing our food. Margaret and crew are always informative, cheerful, and helpful. We now do both the summer and winter shares and strongly recommend this CSA to anyone in the area

I'm about to sign up for my third summer share! Groundworks Farm is awesome! All of your friends will be jealous of your cornucopia of fresh fruits, vegetables, and meat (mine sure are!). I've subscribed to the summer, winter, and meat shares and have thoroughly enjoyed all of them. Kevin and Margaret are amazing. Sign up! You wont regret it!!!

I've been a year-round member of this CSA for two years and have loved every season! The produce is terrific and the variety is amazing. I've been introduced to new vegetables and love that Groundworks provides us with recipes. Each week is different but all have great variety -- greens, vegetables, fruit, herbs, etc. I also participated in their meat, chicken, cheese and egg shares, which are great. I would recommend this CSA to anyone who cared about great food, great service and great experience.

My husband and I have been getting groundworks farm shares for about a year and a half now. Highly recommended. Vegetable quality and variety is great, and I love the options of getting meat, cheese, and other things along with the veggies.

This is my family's first experience with a CSA. We are enjoying it very much. I cook differently now. I open my refrigerator and make meals from the ingredients I received that week--lots of freshly harvested vegetables straight from the farm, grown with organic methods. The variety is great. Bonus: the produce lasts longer since it is freshly harvested.

Pick up is convenient to me in Arlington at the Arlington Arts Center. It can be quick or leisurely, depending on my available time. Groundworks Farm CSA has a nice layout at distribution. Bins of vegetables are laid out along with a list of limits for each item. I like being able to measure and choose my specific cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, etc.

I especially like that the eggs are pasture raised and have deep orange yolks. They are grown without antibiotics and are non-gmo!

I am thrilled with the freshness and variety of the produce Groundworks provides. It has been a great mix of locally grown vegetables I expectlettuce, corn, tomatoeswith vegetables that I would not have tried, such as watermelon radishes and kohlrabi. This summer they have added fruit to the produce distribution, making the produce share even more appealing. I like the fact that the farmers provide the amount of each produce I can take for my share, but that I choose the particular produce from each bin. The farmers have provided wonderful recipe options to help me make use of all the produce that is provided. The pasture-raised meatsbeef, pork, lamb, and chickenhave been especially tasty. The cheese provides locally produced cheeses that I would not have tried before. Finally, the farmers have added and expanded a store at the site with dairy products, additional fruit and eggs, and other food products for purchase. These products supplement the CSA distribution very nicely.

Margaret and Kevin are great and really knowledgeable. Each week we get a newsletter that has a recipe (some great ideas!) and some insight about the work that goes into the farm. Like other reviewers have said, weekly pickups are really fun - there's usually delicious baked goods and everyone is friendly and kind. One season I got a vegetable share just for myself, but that was definitely too much, so I'm splitting a share with a friend this time. That's actually the perfect amount of vegetables. They also offer a good variety of vegetables, so it's never just turnips and kale week after week (although their turnips and kale ARE delicious!). I'd definitely recommend this CSA.

Groundworks Farm is the best! I've had a share (both summer and winter) since they came to the area from Vermont, and have never been disappointed. Each week's vegetable share has a great variety of produce, and everything is much better (and much better priced) than equivalents from the grocery store. There are meat, chicken, egg and cheese shares available as well. Everything they sell is raised in a healthy, sustainable and ethical way. Each week the farm sends out an update with extras available at that week's pickup--like fruit (peaches and berries in the summer, apples in the fall), milk, fair trade coffee, and other local products. The weekly emails also include recipes with suggestions for how to use less familiar ingredients.

In addition the incredible food, the pickups (I attend the Alexandria pickup) are like a weekly party...there are always free cookies, and members often stick around

we purchased GW's whole summer share this year - and we were not disappointed! chicken, beef, lamb, pork, cheese, eggs, and produce were included. we loved everything! we tried several new kinds of veggies as well, and it's great having fresh eggs all the time. plus, margaret is the sweetest! it's wonderful to be able to get our groceries straight from the farmer, and i love her weekly email stories too!
