Last year was our first year with Kitttatinny Mountain Farm and we couldn't have been more delighted with all the fantastic certified organic produce, herbs, and cut flowers. Since organic food is very important to us, we were delighted to find the only certified organic CSA in the area. Not only are they certified organic and local, the share prices are very reasonable especially for certified organic produce.

They have a large selection of vegetables and every week there is at least something which you may never have eaten before along with recipes. There is a large variety and many choices on what to choose each week including pick your own flowers, string beans, herbs, and cherry tomatoes. They also sell their organic produce at the Sparta Farmers Market.

It is also a great feeling to be able to support very hardworking young organic farmers Dave and Danielle. I wish them the best and I cannot wait to rejoin this year and support what we consider a local organic treasure.

We have been shareholders with Kittatinny Mountain Farm for 3, going on 4 years. Every year has included a wonderful variety of vegetables, all nutritious and delicious. And it seems every year they introduce a vegetable that I have never heard of, eaten, or enjoyed before, for example: the sunchoke... delicious!!! I think the first year was the salad turnip, which is now one of my favorites. I am now craving their cherry tomatoes, and I have 7 months to wait for them!?!?!?! We have gotten the half share and the full share, both I felt were excellent value for the money. They allow flexibility in choosing on pick up day, and Dave and Danielle are friendly and funny to boot!

I did a workshare with them in 2014 and got to see first hand the knowledge and care that Dave and Danielle bring to their farm. I continued as a CSA member last summer. They grow many heirloom varieties that are so delicious, whether it's farm fresh carrots or stored garlic and onions. I've even learned to love vegetables that I rarely touched before because they taste so much better straight from the farm. Their CSA is one of the best set ups I have seen; currently you get to choose from an assortment when you pick up at the farm and you're never made to take more than you need. You also get far more produce for the price compared to other co-ops in the area. The reasonable and scenic drive to the farm is one of my favorite parts of summer and I enjoy picking up extras at our local farmer's market when I need anything in between pick ups. A half share works great for two people, but a full share is perfect if you store vegetables for off season consumption.
