This farm started a CSA this year and much to my sister's and my delight we signed up before the cutoff. Today was our last day receiving our shares and we were quite sad. Through volunteering and picking up our "goodies" we have come to know and love the folks working there. This year was a slow start (for everyone) due to the rainy spring. The shares were a little light in the beginning but always delicious. They compensated by offering flowers from the green house! As the summer went along we received what we felt was a fair amount (it was our first year also!). Along with the produce share they offered a flower share and an herb share to be purchased separately if you wished to do so. While they are not licensed as "organic", they do the same things an organic farm does. I especially loved the way some of the produce looked the way I remember it being when I was younger....NOT PERFECT, but the flavors were wonderful. Yum! The selection was very good. We received tomatoes, peppers (lots), leeks, onions, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, potatoes, blueberries, apples, winter pears, winter squash, lettuces, eggplant and chestnuts. I am sure I have left some out. They also have a farm stand for the public to purchase their produce. This farm donates food to several shelters and is very conscientious about what they do and are trying to accomplish. I know I plan to be a part of this farm both by donating my time and being a part of the CSA in the years to come. Please visit them next year!!
