The Forest Farmer's Market is conveniently located right behind the library and along a looping paved trail. I like to take my little dog along (on a leash) to wander through the exhibits. He greatly enjoys smelling every few steps so it gives me time to look. The makers and producers are all very friendly: one nice lady offered Jarvis a doggie treat that she brought along to keep the dogs busy while their owners' shop. I picked up some terrific BBQ pork at one stall and some local honey at another. My daughter loved a home-made and fluffy marshmallow. The parking lot can get pretty crowded, but it is worth it!

It is a pleasure to be able to buy fresh produce, baked goods, eggs, and meats at the Local Market in Forest. You do want to get there early because some of the goods are gone by mid-morning. The prices are good and the service is wonderful. It worth a Saturday morning visit.
