Roundup Isn't Natural
(Apr 20, 2011)
I am very disappointed with this situation. A farm cannot become naturally grown overnight, yet that is what this farm is attempting to do. Their info here on Local Harvest states that they are naturally grown and biodynamic/Demeter Certified, yet all of these titles require a farm to be free of pesticides/herbicides. The farmer himself has stated to various people that he uses both of these and doesn't intend to stop. He even posted on the farm's facebook page saying that he had been outside spraying Roundup. I'm not sure what's going on here, but people deserve to know the truth. Perhaps the farmer is confused about what "naturally grown" means? If so, he should take the time to research it before making claims about it. At the moment, if people purchase food from him, they are getting produce grown with chemicals, even though they've been told otherwise.
It would be great to see more organic/naturally grown farms in this area. Maybe someday Nature's Bountea will fit that description, but right now it doesn't, so I will buy my produce from other farmers who are truthful about their farming practices.

I'm glad I read this review. I was ready to go but I can get that chemicals at the store. We don't even use Roundup on our own property and I garden as organically (including building the soil) as we can here in South Arkansas. Thank you for letting us know.
