The South Suburban Food Coop moved in June 2011 to a store front location. Our membership and inventory are continually expanding. This month we have added a second produce day. We now have fresh produce delivered on Mondays as well as our traditional Thursday. New items are continually being added to the non produce section. Education is part of our mission. To achieve that goal we frequently have food demonstrations in the store. Come by and visit us. As of January 2012 we continue to offer a free three month membership.

I recently joined the South Suburban Food Coop. The location is wonderful and the store is appropriately sized for the inventory in stock. The inside is clean and very well organized. They run a volunteer program in which you share 16 hours of your time a month and received 20 percent off your grocery bill the following month (I instantly became part of but not necessary). Not a day has gone by that I haven't learned something from the people there, fellow shoppers included. It is a store that buys local, organic and hormone free products, stressing the importance of health and community. I really like this store and will most likely be a lifetime time member. You can tour for free and they also a 3 month free guest pass.
