My Husband and I first learned about Crispy Farms last year. We went out there for a tour and were thoroughly impressed with all they are doing on their property. They have taken the space they have and used it to its fullest. Every week we loved getting our fresh veggies, fruits, herbs and eggs from Crispy Farms. We have been truly spoiled and can never go back to store bought eggs and produce.

We have a very small yard and do some "gardening" of our own. Alicia was always very helpful in giving us tips and tricks to help our garden.

I can not say enough wonderful things about Crispy Farms. Truly one of the best local farms in the area.

There are some farmers out there who just dont cut it in terms of sustainability, Crispy Farms is not one of them. From the moment you walk up to their farm you know something is different.

From the moment you walk up you are greeted by a few farm cats, bunnies, igwuanas, and motherless baby squirrels. This isn't just a farm it is a rehabilitation center for all walks of life. Their germinating room is completely cost free. Everything that there farm uses has been either repurposed or up cycled. Turning the corner from their germinating shed you note that this place is much larger then previously anticipated.

Your vision is blurred with the site of raised bed gardens, huge Florida avocado tree, rain barrel set up, and multiple pens from their goats, turkeys, ducks, and chickens. Did I mention they cow? Well continuing past the pen areas opens up even more land. Alicia, the farm owner, has mentioned she is working on building a native edible landscape section, which tasted delicious. Moreover, Crispy Farms is just completing their quarter acre fruit, vegetable, and aquaculture section. Already there are kiwis, sugar cane, pineapple, an excavated sit for the pond which is coming in next month, and a row dedicate to sum one-hundred artichoke; my favorite!

Going to Crispy Farms is like taking a vacation away from the hustle and nonsense bustle of suburban living. Did I mention they live off of Lake Apopka? Yes, so when your finished gorging yourself silly with fruits and vegetables you can take a nice leisure walk toward the historic lake. Osprey, gator, and herons patrol the shore lines all looking to make their ends meat. In summation, this farm is the definition of sustainable perm culture design. So if you are tired of purchasing dirt, plants, and pots from your Home Depot or Lowes, come by and Crispy Farms. They will show you how to yield great tasting veggies on a low budget.
