Ithaca Farmers Market is the prime direct sellers marketplace for local foods & crafts made or grown within 30 miles of Ithaca. Since the Market has been running for over 30 years, it serves as a very important business incubator for local start ups. The produce selection is top notch, and of course there's the tasty food from Macro Mama's,Emmy's Organics and the wonderful fermented Ag. products from MacDonald Farm- tasty local sauerkraut & pickles!

We visit the Farmers Market when we geta chance to visit our friends in Ithaca...sadly not too often these days. We got our beloved dog there as a puppy and had her for 13 happy years. The best dog ever. We have bought produce, arts and crafts, jewelry and hand made gifts. It is the BEST!

The beautiful produce, the vast array of vegetarian food options, our newest RAW vegan booth (Emmy's Organics) as well as a fun, family friendly place to bring the kids to hang out on the weekend. A great place to run into everyone you know around town!

it represents and reaffirms all the wonderful qualities of ithaca...community support, sustainability, eco-friendly-for real- and a fabulous selection of amazing foods and incredible homemade products!

We walk-the-talk about eco-friendliness and sustainability: growers and craftspeople from no further than 30 miles; total trash compostable; vendors happy and friendly; beautiful site right on inlet at Cayuga lake for boaters to come in and with benches alongside the water for eating, sitting, talking; musicians abound. Greatest gathering place in the city for people to see each other at least once/week.

It's the relationship between the farmers and community... it's not seperated. wow i never thought to put it inot words but it really is that the 30 mile radius of the market includes everyone not just who we can buy from but there is a genuine feel that all of us are a part of our food production and sourcing. It really is a magical place. To say nothing of being right on Cayuga lakefront! It's beautiful!

There is a Certified Veganic farmer there: Bill Bey of Unexpected Farm. He has the best produce in the world! His garlic, asparagus, and potatoes are unbeatable--and this year he even has French artichokes!

The Ithaca Farmer's market is a true Farmer's market featuring fresh and generally organic produce, arts, crafts and gerat ethnic foods from different cultures. The great location next to the lake is a beautiful place to be and relax as it creates a very nice atmosphere.

It is a great place to meet and buy food, marvelous art, baked goods, and enjoy friendly people.

It has everything you could possibly want.. organic or not all local supplies. Not to mention the comraderie!

The Ithaca Farmers Market is full of not just farmers, but local artists as well, including great musicians. More than a place to shop, it is a weekly family friendly event where one can meet with friends, shake the hands of those that feed us and support our vibrant community.

Farmers and veggies are fresh! People are sweet. We even have local organic meat!

The farmers market in Ithaca has a great community of vendors, and lots of great produce and crafts. Its a great place to hang out and get some food, or to shop. it has a nice dock where you can enjoy your food with friends while watching the ducks and boats pass by.

A community gathering place where we can buy fresh, organic produce and meat, drink GIMME coffee, eat a varied assortment of bakery goods and meals, purchase locally made crafts, talk with friends, and support local farmers and craftspeople.

They have a great selection, produce, meat and crafts. It's a great group of people.

All produce is grown w/in a 30 mile radius and all vendors are VERY committed to growing in a sustainable manner; plus everyone I've ever dealt with there has been super friendly. The crafts are BEAUTIFUL, the food vendors are unique & authentic, and it really captures the energy of Tompkin's county!

The food is fantastic, but what I like best is being able to talk with the growers. Everyone I've spoken with at the Ithaca Farmers Market is so knowledgeable about what they do--and so enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge with their customers.

The Ithaca Farmers Market is the most amazing place to buy local food and have a meal. Everyone is so excited to sell their products and everything was made by hand within 15 miles of Ithaca! There is a wide variety of products and services offered there such prepared food from any culture, personalized leather works, raw/vegan/gluten free desserts and massages. The market has a roof and open sides and is right on the water..the most beautiful place to spend an afternoon.

It's wonderful. Great variety of vegetables, flowers, prepared foods, art and craft items. Open each weekend from April thru December.

Ithaca Farmers market has lots of organic choices, which I appreciate. There are also many food vendors who offer a wide variety of delicious food. The setting is magnificent, on the waterfront.

Buying local is important to the long term health of our community and we get great stuff at the market.

Moving to North Carolina I expected that the longer growing season would give us access to produce and meats/pouttry at least as good as that found in Ithaca. Alas, though we live in a university town of 70,000 in an agricultural area, the local markets just cannot match the number of vendors, diversity of products and Ithaca ambiance. Well done, Ithaca!!!

The people are very friendly and they provide the finest local produce, high quality crafts, and excellent food. There is always at least one band playing and some days as many as three. Great people, food and entertainment all in one location!

It's fun, beautiful, the people are friendly, there are great events, there is a lot of variety - what's not to love? It's fun to eat your lunch, with food purchased there, while sitting by the water and being serenaded by local musicians.

Lots of variety - organic food. Like the food booths - especially Macro Mamas. There's clothes, jewelry, art work. Also - it's on Cayuga Lake - great place for a picnic - or to take a boat tour of the lake.

Everything at this market is grown or made within a 30 mile radius of Ithaca. The produce is organic. The market has made a commitment to zero waste use packaging, plates, cups, napkins, etc. The market also serves as an informal incubator for new restaurants and arts and crafts - many of which go on to establish businesses in the community.

It is very important to me and my family to support our local farmers. The market is great, i a perfect setting by the lake, the vendors are talented artists, bakers and framers with the highest quality organic foods. We never miss an opportunity to shop there, even though it is a bit of a drive for us.

I love to take visitors there. Has a bit of everything, including wine tasting, and is rustic and picturesque. Also, on Sundays there are always plenty of cute dogs to pet and admire.

I love to support local farmers and especially organic. The community of people attending are spirited and smart and the quality of the prepared food is awesome...There are musicians and all taking place on the water....It's second to none. I go every chance I get: Saturday and Tuesday's especially.

The Ithaca Farmers Market has a little something for everyone! All of the food is delishes and the location is breathetaking, right on the inlet! The entire community supports the farmers market, and it is by far the best one I have ever been too!

Supporting local organic food production is good for our health, local economies, and the environment. I like this market especially because there are Certified Veganic farmers there, which I think is the most ethical, healthy and sustainable.

The variety of fresh produce, crafts, and prepared foods are phenomenal; the location right off the lake is beautiful, and I love that it is a gathering place for the larger community!

Ithaca Farmer Market offers a large variety of vegetables and fruits at a competitive price. Farmers are always very helpful.

Fresh, delicious local food. When you buy from small, local farms (ESPECIALLY organic) you are voting against factory farming methods. Where else can you make a political contribution that contributes to your palate and your health?

It is an amazing representation of local farmers as well as other "arts and crafts" locals.

I am not sure what I like best - I spend hours there with my daughter every weekend we are in town. We eat fabulous food, buy amazing locally grown organic produce for the week, listen to music, play in the treehouse by the water, watch the baby ducks - it is the best market I have ever been to.

There's nothing else like it in the region. Organic produce, plants, art, crafts and live music all under a large roof so you won't get soaking wet if it's raining. All the food vendors have coordinated to provide recyclable plates and utensils. You can sit looking out over the lake to eat it. I've been to several farmers' markets that have had great local organic foods for sale, but this is the only one I've seen so far that is pleasant to stop and hang out in longer than it takes to just make your purchase.

My family and I travel from Houston to Ithaca each summer. As we plan our trip we make sure to maximize the number of times we can visit the market. Ithaca is a slice of heaven, but the market is the song of the angels. Our children love the fruit, the samosas, the music, and playing by the lake. This year, as always, we will certainly do a fair bit of Christmas shopping among the unique crafts for sale.

I've lived all over the country and been to dozens of different Farmer's Markets, but Ithaca's is still the best!

The ithaca Farmer's MArket is a wonderful place because it really brings people together with the local crafts people and farmers with the array of products for sale. And it is a beauitful space right on Cayuga Lake to relax enjoy the delicious prepared food at the market.

Nothing beats arriving at the Ithaca Farmers Market by kayak or canoe, then strolling through the crowds while noshing on Indonesian or Thai snacks, and picking out the perfect kohlrabi!

It is a fantastic market, with produce, prepared foods, crafts, live music, in a beautiful open-air structure by the waterfront. All vendors are required to live, and produce their offerings, within a certain radius of Ithaca - truly local! It's like a mini festival every weekend. Wonderful ambience.

Itown Farmer's Market is a Saturday morning staple! A coffee @ Gimme, a muffin from Fat Boy or maybe some brunch from Macro Mama's, do a little shopping, get my puppy dog petting fix @ the SPCA, pick up my veges for the week, and I'm good to go! All in one beautiful location with the most beautiful people a town could have! I heart Ithaca Farmer's Market!

Its the place to be on Saturuday mornings. You can buy fresh breakfast burritos, taste local wine AND buy fresh baked bread and veggies for dinner that night. It doesn't get any more local than a Farmers' Market!!

The Ithaca Farmers Market isn't just a place to get the best fresh fruits and vegetables, its an enriching atmosphere of local talent, amazing foods, and spectacular location. There's nothing better than grabbing a bite to eat, some fresh fruit juice, sitting on the pier and listening to local musicians strum on their guitars.

The lunch choices alone include Cambodian, Tibetan, Greek, flat bread pizzas and more - and you can sample local wines and cheeses. It's the best way to spend a weekend afternoon.

A permanent structure to protect us from the elements, so we can enjoy the delights of the market April - December. Produce, flowers, pottery, music, bakeries, breakfast burritos, Gimme! Coffee, and beautiful Cayuga Lake. We can cheer on Cornell and Ithaca College's rowing teams while we compost everything but the lids on our coffee cups!

The Ithaca Farmers Market is one of the few markets where only producers sell. There are no "middlemen" or resellers. Also, everything is local, grown or made within a 40-mile radius of Ithaca.

The farmers care about the area and their products, the artisans are kind and hard-working, it brings the community together, it is on a beautiful lake, there is live music, dogs are allowed on Sunday, there are neat events like the Earth Day Market, and it is zero waste!

I have been all over the country, and this market is the best of the best! There are many reasons why this market is superior. What stands out in my mind is the food, crafts, local produce, spirit of the vendors and buyers alike, strong community, the exchange of local currency (known as Ithaca hours), kid-friendly, live music, the list goes on and on. The market is located right on beautiful Cayuga Lake, and it is one of Ithaca's greatest gems. What a blessing!

With a huge selection of local produce and meats, as well as locally produced wines, cheese and baked goods, our local farmers market makes me proud of my hometown every Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday. And the prepared food, ranging from cuban to cambodian (and everything in between) makes breakfast or lunch by the lake a real treat!

The market is beautiful and everything is produced locally and monitored for quality. All the agricultural products are terrific, the food is great, and the crafts are juried. It is located on the inlet under a rainproof pavilion. The pleasures are many: cruise Cayuga Lake, listen to music, enjoy the local color, eat a wonderful lunch, and pack home fresh, tasty food and really attractive handcrafts. It is a weekend requirement, not to be missed.
