We took a chance on Uproot Farm in 2012 and we were so glad we did! We've participated in the Summer 2012, Fall 2012, Summer 2013 and Fall 2013. We've now signed up again for the Summer of 2014!

The vegetables were always fresh, there was a wide variety throughout both the summer share and the fall share. I've talked to friends who had participated in both Uproot Farm and other CSA's. They said that the variety that Uproot Farm has was great.

We've enjoyed the weekly newsletters and the farm potluck that Sarah has in the Fall. Every week she gives different ideas on how to use the vegetables in that weeks share. It's helped us branch out from only eating a select few vegetables to feeling comfortable preparing new (for us) vegetables.

I think the best thing about Uproot Farms is being able to teach our 9 year old about healthy foods by following it up with meeting both the farmer and the farm from which they came!

We signed up for a CSA from Uproot Farm last Spring. I was a little hesitant as I had grown up on a farm in ND and was used to very fresh vegetables most of my life. I was totally amazed! They actually were BETTER than what I was used to. Each box was freshly picked, still moist with morning dew, a picture to behold, as if an artist had arranged a still life. The assortment of vegetables was great, as were the recipes on the website. Here are some people who are willing to work hard for the money they receive.

Each box was filled with a perfect amount of produce each week and our family eats a lot of vegetables in the summer. There were salad greens every week and I appreciated the cleanliness of the lettuce. Her newsletter is fun to read: she includes recipes and beautiful photos. I found my favorite kale recipe from her suggestions and I enjoy her column on what is happening on the farm. The newsletter is easily accessible via e-mail and their website. Everything came to us fresh and cared for with timely delivery. I loved the CSA potluck at her farm: it looked like it was straight out of an Italian film with fresh picked flowers, flowing white tablecloths under gorgeous trees, with friendly greetings by Black Dog and lovely food.

We took a chance last summer and joined Uproot in their first year of CSA- and we are SO happy that we did! Not only did we get 3/4 bushel of outstanding veggies, we got to know the farmers, Sarah and Jake- who are both super knowledgeable and easy to talk with. The weekly newsletters and the vast online recipe database are very helpful and convenient. We liked the summer share so much, we also signed up for a fall share and look forward to this summer's harvest as well! Highly recommend.
