We started purchasing shares from Highland Orchards in the middle of the winter and I was amazed at the variety and quality of food even at that time of year. The shares are a good size for the price, and I love that you can get vegetables, fruit, and herbs in your share. They also offer extras such as eggs, bread, and preserves. My favorite part of doing business with this CSA is the ease of their website. There is a lot of flexibility in how you purchase shares, whether it's one week at a time or purchasing several months in advance. You can add extras to your order and they are placed in your share for that week. The website is extremely straight-forward and easy to use so you can see exactly when your next share is and what you have added to it. You can also postpone a share if you will be out of town. In addition, I have contacted Highland Orchards many times for clarification on purchasing shares or farming practices and I have always received a response the same day. They are pleasant, easy people to do business with and the quality and variety of produce is excellent.

I joined the Highland Orchard CSA starting with the Spring 2010 quarter and couldn't be happier. The fruits and veggies are delicious and fresh and the herbs have allowed me to experiment with my cooking in ways I haven't before. Everyone has been so kind and Ruth has always been available to answer questions! Plus, the offer really good baked goods! I've taken a liking to the Apple Cider Doughnuts :)

I plan on being a member for years to come!

Great selection of fruits, vegetables and other organic products. It's nice to know you can get organic, non-GMO food locally and so fresh. Staff at Highland are super friendly and very attentive. Go visit them and start eating organic today. You either pay for good food today or high medical bills tomorrow - easy choice ;)

I have been a member of Highland Orchards CSA in north Wilmington for over a year now. The produce is really fresh and tasty...the carrots are great! This has allowed me eat a wider variety of fruits and vegetables; I have also visited the local farm store more often to purchase additional quantities of my very favorites! More people should consider joining CSAs to show their support for the families who grow our food.
