I have a CSA with one of the farmers, I can get bread and rolls, have a coffee and breakfast with my husband, purchase soaps and fragrances, honey, maple syrup, etc. And support local businesses while doing it.

Fresh fruit without lots of pesticides;friendly atmosphere. Plus you can grab a cup of coffee and a bite to eat from Elcey's.

Aside from our own small home garden, the farmer's market supplies us with healthy, whole foods that come from nature. We welcome the opportunity to get away from the grip of corporate America, the processed food industry and factory farms and to exchange those unhealthy concepts for wholesome ones. Our country's health is suffering greatly because we live on a steady diet of junk food, junk information and self-serving business propaganda. The farmer's market is the most basic, simple example of a community organizing at the ground level and using what mother nature provides to help support one another.

The Glenside Market has excellent long term farmers with fabulous produce, especially Herrcastle Farm. It began from a community initiative and has become a great neighborhood meeting place on Saturday morning.

Buy fresh, buy local is so very important. Herrcastle Farm has the best produce. We really enjoy their CSA as well as their produce. Christina Maser's jams and jellies are also delicious. We really enjoy the local honey and Mindy's Desserts, too.

The more people buy local the more we will not be using oil to ship our food 3,000 when we can grow it right here. Think Globally, act locally!!

Our neighborhood was in dire need of a dose of freshness and new energy. It has a great old train system (SEPTA) and a group of long-time independent merchants, but like any older neighborhood, needs injections of life from time to time to keep competitive with the seemingly inevitable draw to the big box stores, the newer strip malls in outer lying suburbs and the like. This Market has done many things--first and foremost, support local farmers and crafters in their business and providing residents with wonderful seasonal produce and flowers. But more than that, it has become a terrific Saturday morning gathering spot, people talking with old friends and getting to know new neighbors. People learning about local trends and issues that could affect their community. Thanks, Glenside Farmers' Market! Keep up the good work.

Glenside Farmers' Market is a grass-roots effort that is a true benefit to the Glenside (and area) community. Despite various bureaucratic hurdles, GFM has persevered to become an established and reliable outdoor marketplace. We go for fresh produce, hormone-free & pasture-grazed beef, delicious fresh treats (pastries, pretzels, cookies, etc.), flowers & plants, etc. There are weekly programs on environmental education, as well as story-time and entertainment. We are grateful to the organizers who make this available to us!

It is really important to me to feed my family seasonal food grown without pesticides (or with minimal pesticides) and grassfed meat and dairy. Since these products are often not available in conventional grocery stores (including Wholefoods), I really appreciate having the farmers bring them to our area once a week. It is important for little my son to meet the farmers who grow some of our food.

It is a fun weekly neighborhood event offering fresh produce, a chance to chat with friends and neighbors, and an opportunity to interact with the people who grow and produce the food we eat.

Support Local! I love getting up on a Saturday and buying fresh produce for the weekend. Although we don't live right in Glenside, it is nice to have a small local market close to home!

I am a diehard fan! I come every Saturday from opening day to closing day except when out of town. I love supporting the local farmers and vendors and I appreciate the freshness and /or uniqueness of the items for sale. I've become a fan of some new things like rhubarb and swiss chard that I probably would not have purchased in the grocery store. It may be small, but Glenside is a great farmers market.

Awesome produce from Landisdale Farms! and great yoghurt, too. Also love the fresh eggs. My whole spring/summer/fall diet is based on the GFM! And, through GFM I found out about Farm to City and Philadelphia Winter Harvest which keeps me eating fresh and well throughout the winter.

It's a wonderful educational tool for our daughter, who identifies the meat, fruit, and veggies at the dinner table by the names of the farmers from whom we bought them.

I love the community atmosphere. The farmers bring an amazing variety of fresh local produce. One stop shopping includes honey, eggs, sauces, candles, soaps, baked goods, pretzels and even something for our four legged friends. The local artisans bring beautiful items jewelry and pottery. The children's story time and activities are a big hit. Our market is the best!!

They have a wonderful variety of vendors with great local produce (even organic!) and handmade goods. It's very family friendly and local artisans are encouraged to display their products. They even provide educational opportunities for children and adults as well as a special story time for the kids. We are so lucky!

I was looking for organic, locally grown produce and i found it!. I don't believe it's all organic, but there was at least one organic farm represented there that sold meat and dairy products as well. There was a good selection of in season produce, herbs, and flowers as well as a stand selling home made maple products. There were craft vendors as well. We got there too early for the children's entertainment, so I can't report on that. It was EXACTLY what I have been looking for!
