I've been a member for several years now, and LPO is a great home delivery service. Each box easily feeds two people who eat tons of vegetables, or would feed a family of four who eat an average amount of fresh veggies and fruit. The quality and variety are great -- each box has at least 3 types of fruit, and half a dozen veggies including tasty greens like chard, spinach, etc. Much of the produce is straight from the LPO farm in Albuquerque, with variety added from nearby regional growers. This ensures you won't ever get a box of only corn or only chile, so it keeps subscribers like me happy year round. You can defer boxes easily online if you are on vacation or just aren't ready for another box, so you won't ever "lose" the box by not being there. Subscriptions are 4 weeks or 10 weeks and you can get them every week or alternate weeks (also able to modify this online at any time -- this is the most flexible and convenient CSA I've ever used). The produce is always great, very few items have been not at their peak. The delivery person even leaves biscuits for my dogs! Also, you can add additional things like bread and cheese and fresh farm eggs (excellent!!!) to your upcoming boxes via the online "member's market." Some areas like Santa Fe require you to pick up your box at a drop point...you can also do this in Los Alamos from Ruby K's I think, but we still get home delivery here since we plow our roads when it snows. ;^)

Did I mention the great farm events hosted by Farmer Monte? We're going to Tomatopalooza this week, an heirloom tomato, cheese, and wine tasting party at a local winery....

I've been a member of LPO for almost two years. At first they delivered to Santa Fe residences but the winter of 2006/07 cured them of that! Dispite having to go pick up the box of fruit and vegetables, being a membo of LPO has been great. The food is always VERY fresh and the newsletter is entertaining. The value is great. I could never buy that much organic food for that price in the local stores and even if I could, it wouldn't be that fresh. i highly recommend it.
