I've been to Bob's Blueberries & spoken at length with the farmers regarding their farming and pesticide usage. The farm uses NO roundups or conventional pesticides - and regarding to the previous posting, PARAQUAT, is a contact herbicide which is used to help many farms with their weeding practices. This is a very common herbicide - and as a CONTACT herbicide, it does not spread through the plant. It is sprayed on surrounding areas near their fruits, BUT DOES NOT SPREAD through the plants, like a systemic herbicide. I have some strict dietary restrictions, so need to be very careful about what I eat - and was comforted after doing some extensive research.

I understand Bob and Nina's plight - it is VERY EXPENSIVE for a small, local farm to certify themselves as "organic" when they produce the same quality, NON GMO fruit "without the fancy label" to their local communities.

I LOVE this blueberry(and raspberry and peach!) farm and love being able to TALK to my farmers and produce!

When you read the in caps "WE DO NOT USE PESTICIDES" call bs. If you doubt this test for paraquat. Google that horror. Ask what they spend 80k a quarter on. Ask Bob or Nina what organic is. Bob's quote "If they could be grown organically everyone would". Check the farm in Thornososa. Theirs are ALL presold.

why paraquat.... it is a vegetation killer not a pesticide it seems pretty counter productive.
