On Saturday, Nov. 9th, we were in the process of riding our bicycles from Key West to Key Largo. A 2 day trek for us. We had left Marathon, FL in the morning and had been looking for a grocery store or farmers market for some good energy. Nothing popped out until we came to about MM 88. That was 40 miles into our day. Paul was ahead of me and found the sign that read Fresh Produce. We were aiming to buy a couple of apples and what we ended up with was a couple of sliced star fruits and a large smoothie concocted with organic apples, oranges, carrots and I am certain other goodies. We sat outside at their colorful tables and enjoyed our treats. My fatigued slipped away and I ended up finishing the last 12 miles of our trip strong. I am not kidding. I can't tell you how delicious our goodies were. So ~ if you are driving along Hwy 1 in the Keys don't miss this stop. You won't be disappointed. My only regret is that we didn't each get a smoothie.
