It's a great way to stay in touch with neighbors in the winter with the added bonus of homegrown food, etc. Local musicians entertain us and there is usually something delicious and warm to eat and drink.

Where else can I get the best of what's around in the depths of winter? It's fun, it's friendly, it's appropriate. We can speak directly with the growers, and it gives them a good marketing option in a time of year when it can be difficult to be a farmer. It needs more funding because it has already filled it's space and I believe more growers would love to sell there.

It is essential we have year round local, organic food options available to us. Not only does a winter market extend the local food supply throughout the year, but it also persists in building a community where eco-conscious growers can make a living doing what they love to do and consumers can communicate their needs more appropriately and effectively through a dialogue that is responsive to them and more in line with today's difficult food choices.

It is rewarding to have locally grown food to be able to purchase. Plus, it is nurturing for our planet to encourage local growth.

Because it encourages Bloomingtonians to eat well and support each other and learn about others in our community.

It's a great way to support our local vendors and a bright spot on a Saturday morning in winter.

The winter farmers's market is a way to keep in touch with our local food-producers during the dull winter months, and remind us again that fresh food is the best way to feed our families.

I like to support the local people so they can keep producing and it's fun to see what they can come up with in the Winter Months.

It makes the dreary months of Jan, Feb and March much brighter and tastier! Fresh local produce in the winter is a wonderful treat.

This is where I can find locally grown food for my family in the winter. It's also where I can catch up with friends and learn about what's going on in my community and how to get or stay involved.

Bloomington Winter Farmer's Market is one of the only places where I can still find local Indiana produce in the dead of winter. The atmosphere alone, with live music and everyone huddled inside a warm gymnasium, is worth the trip!

A warm happy place on a cold winter's morning. Great to see how it has changed the way Bloomington farms and eats -- having a winter outlet has helped farmers develop their businesses and has expanded consumers' winter's food choices. A wonderful thing!!

A friend of mine works beyond belief for this market. She is a true farmer who has some of the nicest produce and fleece around! We have even ordered Red Rosa items and had them shipped to Alabama! Bloomington Winter Farmers' Market truly needs the help!

One of the splendid beauties of the Bloomington Farmer's Market is the sense of joyful community. In the winter, it feels even sweeter to see everyone, to find the nourishment of local foods and to share smiles, music, the realization of how many ways just being together can nourish us! Then there are the many unique and evolving treats spread out in an abundance that reflects the season--stored veggies, cold frame foods, specially prepared treats, the ever essential eggs...and the starts and buds of the next season's explosion of foods. The fact that I know many of the people behind the tables matters deeply to me. Our mutual well-being is at stake here. We are making an effort to do the right thing--right here, right now.

Fresh local food in midwinter? Supporting our local growers and food-makers? A few hours of fresh live local community every time? No contest!

I love to support the local economy and sustainable food production. And, it's the best-tasting, freshest food available. It's a wonderful way to be connected with my community in the middle of winter when so many of us hole up. There's good music, too!

I love spending money in such a way that as little as possible goes to support war, multinationals, prisons, and industrial ag.
