Desert Roots farm is hands down the best CSA in the valley. From the fact they are the only 100% organic farm to their multiple choices from home delivery to pick-up at the farm, they offer it all. They are true to their roots (pardon the pun) and do not supplement their weekly shares with vegetables or fruit that is not grown directly from their farm and that grows in this region. If you are seeking the best organic and locally grown produce look no further than Desert Roots Farm, you won't be disappointed.

When I first joined Desert Roots CSA, I had no idea what to expect. Every week I received a bag of produce, some of which I was familiar with, some of which I had never heard of.
At first I was intimidated by bags of mizuna and arugula, but now I eat all their offerings either raw, roasted, grilled, or made into soups. I am now eating a lot more "green" stuff than I ever have before!
I have also been inspired to garden in this desert region, seeing what Kelly has been able to accomplish. Korin delivers my produce every week with a smile, a recipe, and news of what is going on with the farm. I have never felt so connected to my food in the past.
Learning how to eat "locally" has been a truly wonderful experience, and I challenge myself to find new ways to use the produce from my weekly bag of veggies and fruit. I have learned to clean and "prepare" a lot of the produce right away so that my family is more comfortable finding "food" in the refrigerator! They, too, are learning to eat things they have never tried before!
Kudos to Kelly and her crew!

My husband and I have participated in the Desert Roots CSA for 3 or 4 years, and the produce is incredibly fresh, delicious, and abundant. Kelly grows a huge variety of produce year-round and also has arranged to bring other natural growers' fruit and organic meat/dairy to her customers. Check out the Desert Roots website for recipes, a list of what's in season, and also a look at the farm's culture of full circle farming. We joined the CSA in a conscious effort to eat local and organic, but also have learned how to enjoy a wide range of veggies we normally wouldn't have tried or liked. And Kelly has inspired me to grow my own organic back yard garden, which is an endless joy and deepens our appreciation of where our food comes from and of all of the energy that is incorporated in every harvested pound.
So we highly recommend joining a CSA and Desert Roots is among the best. They offer delivery service or there are pick-up points around the valley.

This is not the only organic farm in the East Valley area. There are others nearby. Off the top of my head - Agritopia in Gilbert.
