Uproot Meats (UM) has quite a solid history of blatant disregard of the land, neighbors, customers, community, and rules and regulations that the rest of us are expected to live by. A couple of years ago it was building an un-permitted commercial building for animal slaughter that was, in fact, denied by Jackson County. The building was completed, but is not structurally safe. It has un-permitted electrical and plumbing and has now been converted into three illegal living areas despite the fact that UM was granted permission to use the structure for agricultural use only. Even the kill area has been converted into an ?apartment,? meaning that slaughter is being done outside with run-off going directly down the hill to the TID canal. UM has already been fined for polluting waters of the state, as well as desecrating the hillside with unlawful excavation. The hearing for Uproot Meat?s latest code violations hearing has been postponed.https://theashlandchronicle.com/another-eye-witness-report-uproot-meats-farming-practices-are-questionable/
