Miranda and James are passionate growers, as they must be to succeed at growing such excellent quality local produce in Portal, AZ. It takes soil and plant savvy to grow fruits and veggies in this high desert and shelter from harsh weather conditions and many hungry herbivore predators.
My personal tiny garden this first year here totaled out at 3 tomato plants and one basil bush that did pretty well, but not without challenges (sudden freezes, blazing hot sunshine, irrigation of course, strong winds, javalina, deer, rabbits, and tomato horn worms...) I am most grateful to have these local growers to provide great produce, since they grow better and more reliably than I can myself.

This farm sells very nice fresh produce and uses organic practices. I particularly loved their kohlrabi, Chinese cabbage, radishes and cucumbers this year. I made a ton of refrigerator pickles and kim chi!
Miranda also gives tours of the greenhouses which is quite fun if you have time for it. I've had several and been able to see how the plants grow throughout the year.
