Snow's Bend had excellent quality veggies. I did experience difficulty in communication with them... they hardly ever bothered to respond to my emails. I did manage to contact them once by phone.

We were members of their CSA for over 5 years and had the most wonderful experience. (This was after a terrible experience with GrowAlabama"which ended up being GrowCalifornia.)

We only stopped our Snow's Bend CSA because we moved out of state, and we miss it terribly. We have also bought from them at the farmer's market consistently during the summer, and the produce has always been incredibly fresh and beautiful. The CSA bags were always interesting and varied a lot from week to week, so we didn't get bored of just tomatoes and peppers. They grow some really interesting varieties, and always ask for feedback.

We visited their farm on more than one occasion, and I can also assure that they are really doing things right. They aren't certified organic because the certification process is an unnecessary expense, but they do things in the most sustainable way possible. They recently added some livestock to their farm, and those are some happy pigs!

The other review complains that they didn't respond in a timely manner mentions nothing about their produce, meat, or growing practices. They can be less than communicative, I'll admit, but it's because they're out in the field growing our food! I cannot recommend them more highly, so get on the waiting list now!

In March I both called and emailed them and never heard back. It's a shame because they brag about selling to the finest restaurants and a well known area health food grocery and deli. So I would rate them a zero, if it was available, but it's not. So maybe a one will give anyone else and them a warning. They could at least follow up on their emails and calls no matter if they are sold out of memberships or busy planting for the season. It's just good business sense.
