It's a small community whose market started out with a few vendors 2-3 years ago. Now there are about 50 vendors along the street each Saturday morning. There are lots of options: fruits, vegetables, growing plants, bakery goods, knife sharpening, and more. Great place to shop for fresh foods and meet friends!

It's getting bigger and better all the time. I love the organic produce vendors. I have gotten to the local growers, and this is the place to meet them and to see the wonders they have produced.

I love to view the mix of people, produce, goods, and the ambience feels so "The People, Yes"! I meet and socialize with the venders and shoppers. I love to ask the growers questions about their experience and learn from them. What fun and action to be part of the "localvore" movement!

The best thing about HFM is the friendliness of the people out there. Free kittens, free samples of bread and cookies, good music are bonus !!!

Haymaker Farmers Market has a great variety of fresh homegrown and locally produced goods, but what really makes it special is the social atmosphere. You can have coffee and a fresh scone while you visit and shop.

It's in my downtown. It's close to my house. I can bike there. I can see my friends there. I can meet the lady who grows my bok choi, the guy who makes Portuguese bread and always smiles, the lady who's trying to start a chicken business, the 4th-generation maple syrup folks, the quiet and brilliant artist, the musician performer for the day, the budding cheesemaker... People are happy when they go to Haymaker. Who wouldn't want to be in a place like that?

I support the local farmers market because well, Its just American. Sure, the large stores can offer lots of produce at low prices but its not the same. Our local farmers and shops need all of our support so that they may continue to do what it is they do. Local produce is tastier too! To shop at the farmers market has such a strong nostalgic community feel that just cannot be created in the large grocer chains. I LOVE FARMERS MARKET!

Just found it. Love it. Breads are great. Black raspberries would have tasted fresher only if I'd picked them myself in the garden. And the fresh peas!!! I'm telling all my friends about it.

Support local markets; buy closer to home thus lowering my carbon footprint; supporting the local farmers; opportunity to discuss different types of produce; learn new recipies from the growers. It's just a great program, sort of grass roots project that has grown into a viable market and a great place to shop.

Throughout the summer, where better to get your produce and baked goods? When the beans, tomatoes, corn, melons and other produce are ripe, why choose Giant Eagle with unripe produce imported from another country when you can get them fresh picked that day from just a few miles away at the market?!?!?!??! Eat locally grown! Your body and planet will thank you!!

This market has gone from being a 4 vendor affair to 40 vendors over the past 15 years and has become an important destination for citizens and vendors on Saturday mornings. Haymaker contributes greatly to the local downtown business district and brings incredible fresh foods to tables all over the community. I love the market and want to see it continue to grow!

Fritz Seefeld is the man who started the market 15 years ago- totally out of his love for Kent and fresh food, he's never earned a cent for all the work he's done. He has vision. He has heart.

I remember when the Haymaker Farmers' Market started back in the 1990s. It is truly part of the heart of the community and deserves any support it can get. It's not just a place to get fresh produce (which is very important), it is also a place to socialize and learn about other happenings in the community.

This is the friendliest and most diverse market with almost all the foods being organic and very local. Even our bakers are often producing vegan products and gluten free products. It is very well managed by our great market manager Fritz Seefeldt who does it all without any monetary compensation. with weekly entertainment, allows anyone to set up a booth for free for one day to "try it on."

It's a great way to enrich our community by supporting local farmers and micro-businesses while having access to healthy, organic and locally-grown food. We don't have room for much of a garden, so we appreciate having access to farm-fresh produce.

It's a vibrant social environment, full of vitality, music and, of course, healthy foods and creative enterprise. It's the place to see and be seen every Saturday morning during the farmer's market season -- and beyond! Last year Haymaker Farmer's Market held an indoor market for the holiday season. Fritz does a great job of organizing the vendors and the vendors do a great job of displaying their wares and describing how they got there. I just love the changing variety of produce, plants, baked goods, and art and beauty products. It's the best place to be in Kent on Saturdays.

Haymaker prioritizes farmers while staging an expanding network of growers, professionals and cottage industries. As the season progresses Tomatoes, Squash, Apples, Corn and Pumpkins appear. I go to Haymaker to sell Whole Grain Breads of Organic ingredients Each week I leave with a new discovery for example: To Haymaker for fresh picked Basil, Rosemary, Oregano and Dill Home with additional finds of goatÂ?s milk cheese, fudge and soap To Haymaker with Homemade Herb bread to sell Home again with peanuts encrusted with local Maple Syrup, fresh Spinach, Strawberries, Radishes and Beets To Haymaker to hear live Music Home afterwards with fresh roasted Coffee Beans, Vegan Baked Goods, and Flowers bouquets with mint. Tented occasionally are introductions to many budding ventures in Kent Haymaker Farmers Market a blooming festival each weekend.
