Also, we have been able to really get to know our farmers, Chris and Eva Worden. They are truly some hard-working people, and spending my produce grocery dollars in a way that physically supports my neighbors is a great feeling. My money goes to people who turn around and spend it here in my community, it does not go to some foreign country. (I'm the kind of person who won't buy oranges from anywhere other than Florida because I live here!!! Why would I pay to truck them in from across the country an be charged twice as much??)
We can interact with other members and learn how to use a variety of vegetables as well as being introduced to new vegetables that we never would have tried otherwise.
When you do the on-farm pickup option, there is a place that you can clean and chop your veggies and get them totally ready to be used for the whole week. It makes it a truly interactive community. While we chop, we look at what others have chosen and ask what it is and how they are going to prepare it. They often have samples of a new way to prepare cooking greens like kale and endive and escarole or lesser loved veggies like radishes and fennel.
I highly, highly recommend this farm.

Thank you for the review and excellent commentary. Moving to Punta Gorda soon and will be looking for a CSA farm! Very helpful!
