I subscribed to Eater's Guild Winter CSA twice and summer once. I didn't this past year because I moved. I worked in Benton Harbor but lived in Michigan City so every Wednesday I would stop by the Livery and pick up my share. Eaters' Guild starts their summer share about a month sooner than many other CSAs - so you're not getting anything too exciting at first but you are getting herbs and radishes and such and it builds your excitement for the summer to come!

They're great because if something doesn't fair well, they replace it with more of another vegetable. You can count on salad greens every week. I love the winter share because you always get root vegetables like potatoes, onion and garlic that last.

Sometimes the share wasn't there right at 5 like it was supposed to be but that's okay because they're farming! Then I would get a pint of beer at the Livery and often times you would get to talk to the owners themselves. They're great at email communication too - it may take a couple days but they always get back to you.

Now I work in GR and will be living in Allegan, so I'm trying to figure out if I can get to a share location each week b/c it's worth it - love their microgreens too!

I used to be part of a CSA in Valpo, Ind which was horrible. Veggies would rot within a day. They used to give us pineapples and watermelon in June. WTF? I want local stuff. Then I found out firsts go to restaurants. Def not Eaters' Guild, I felt like members come first. Plus they invite you to the farm, although I was never able to make it.

I was so impressed with the freshness of all the produce and was please with the variety we had each week. The half share was perfect for out family of two adults and two young children. We will definitely sigh up again!
