We are searching for the best tasting foods we can find and for meat this typically means heritage breeds that tend to grow slower then their high-production counterparts where taste and personality are ignored. It is also of the uptmost important that our animals are happy and for you to know that you are supporting a humane farm (no factory here!). All of our animals are in managed grazing systems and are allowed to be themselves (which can be pretty funny sometimes). There are NO antibiotics, growth hormones, medicated feed or chemical dewormers. We also do not put any weird stuff in our finished product (we were blessed to find an amazing butcher) so you won't find nitrates/ites, MSG, preservatives, colorings, etc in our finished sausages, hams, hot dogs and other meats. But, there are lots of minerals and supplements (e.g., apple cider vinegar) so you know you are getting a nutrient-dense product. If our soils are not healthy our animals will not be healthy.
We are very excited to announce that we currently have soy-free eggs and are working on developing an agroforestry system (think: acorns, chestnuts, hazelnuts, elderberries) so the pigs can also be soy-free...stay tuned. [Check out Weston A. Price's Soy Alert page to learn more about soy and why we care.]
The beef and lamb are 100% grassfed and approved by the American Grassfed association.
We also are happy to offer S3 Soap. This is old-fashioned, cold processed lard soap - made from the best lard on earth! We use only all natural ingredients and probably have one you'll love - check out our website or our etsy page. The soaps are with us at farmer's markets too and can be added to your CSA.
But, all of this takes support. If you see something above that piques your interest call or email us! We are now taking orders for the upcoming growing season and hope to get lots of [constructive] criticism. We can arrange drop-offs anytime in Eau Claire and I am frequently going to the Madison and Green Bay areas, of course, you can always pick up at the farm!
Want to save some $$$ and time? Meat is available in wholes or halves - email for pricing and availablility. If your freezer is also tight we are delighted to offer a meat CSA - email/call for bundle options, pricing and drop-offs.
It is hard to sit at the computer when there is so much to do outside, but check out our new website at www.togetherfarms.com where we have lots more information and our Facebook page where we hope to have lots of pictures and frequent updates; however, there are only so many hours and so much coffee.
We love showing you where your food is coming from and learning more about what you know and what you want. We are happy to give farm tours anytime we can and offer 5% off for picking up at the farm.
Many heartfelt thanks for helping a small, intentional, family farm get off the ground!
We could not do it without you!
