At present we are building our infrastructure that can take up to a year to accomplish. While we have some CSA boxes available this year, we will be in full production in 2020. We would love for you to follow us on face book and experience our adventure as well as provide any input, suggestions and ideas you may have for us to consider.
In the spring of 2017 we started raising bees to help pollinate our fields and contribute to preserving our earth's ecosystem.
In the winter of 2017 we inoculated our first set of logs to cultivate mushrooms. We chose several varieties of shiitake for the first year. We are up scaling our mushroom production to meet our future demands.
Jim spent over 3 years working on a large commercial vegetable farm planting, transplanting and harvesting vegetables ranging from cabbage to tomatoes and everything in between. Cindy has done extensive gardening from raising the healthiest vegetables, the most amazing herbs to the most vibrant flowers.
For the past 8 years we have been planting 3 half acre food plots with sunflowers, winter wheat, corn and many other vegetables. We have expanded those fields and converted them to 10 field blocks of permanent raised vegetable beds for a 10 year crop rotation.
Or goal is to become organically certified as soon as possible. Unfortunately due to USDA regulations and time constraints it could take up to 3 years to accomplish. We will be following the strictest of organic practices to produce the healthiest, freshest most nutritious vegetables and herbs in the area.
