River Taw Farms grass fed Black Angus beef cattle farm is located on the border of Cleveland and Gaston Counties, nestled in the rolling piedmont of the southwestern portion of North Carolina and situated in the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. We have over 2,500 acres of pasture, trees and natural water. We take pride in our membership with the American Grassfed Association, who certifies our grassfed program, and the Animal Welfare Approved program, who provides certification for the humane treatment of our animals. Our vision is to build one of the finest herds of grass fed Black Angus cattle in the Carolinas and breed them in a holistic natural environment. We are working on fencing and clean water to create effective rotational grazing, and we hope to eventually be fully independent with solar driven wells. We have a closed herd of 300 young cows and had our first grassfed offspring for sale in the winter of 2010. Our natural Black Angus registered breeding stock and grassfed beef cattle are for sale by appointment Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.
