Cafe' located where forest meets agriculture in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. A fresh expression of local cuisine, Rock River Cafe' provides the local community a venue for local produce, meat, syrup, art. Menu items include Finnish traditional food evoking the history and culture of Alger County, vegetarian and vegan selections, and a kid friendly menu. Espresso drinks crafted from fair trade organic beans roasted by Higher Grounds Trading in Traverse City Michigan. Teas are grown and blended Light of Day Organics. Rock River Cafe' is housed within the Michigan listed historic Pacific Hotel built in 1904 of native limestone. The area is rich in history and is a wealth of fresh farm produce grown naturally on the outskirts of the Hiawatha National Forest. Produce comes from Rock River Farms, Seeds and Spores, UPland Gardens, Rock River Farm, Dukes Farm, and other local farmers as product is available. Ground beef is grass fed from Bahrman Farms where our potatoes are also grown. Maple Syrup from Rock River Sugar Bush is served with breakfast and is included as an ingredient throughout the menu. Breads are baked by Trenary Toast Inc. and Huron Mountain Bakery. Located near the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, the Grand Island Recreation area, the Seney National Wildlife Refuge, the Hiawatha National Forest, and miles of Lake Superior Shoreline, the Rock River Cafe' is a perfect spot to enjoy free WIFI and healthy meals for silent sport enthusiasts.
