Root of the Matter’s CSA connects Rochester-area households with fresh, locally grown food while supporting a Black-owned urban regenerative farm. Members receive a weekly or biweekly share of seasonal vegetables, herbs, and culturally relevant specialty crops grown using regenerative, no-till practices. Small Shares include approximately 5–8 bundles per week, while Medium Shares include approximately 9–12 bundles per week, with selections changing throughout the season based on what is ready for harvest. Our solidarity pricing model offers three tiers—Community, Standard, and Sustainer—allowing members to choose the price that best reflects their household’s financial circumstances. All members receive the same quality of produce regardless of the tier selected; Sustainer memberships help offset Community-tier shares and strengthen access to locally grown food.
