Root & Sky Farm

Root and Sky Farm was created after we sold our homestead of ten years in Glen Ellyn, IL, which on a half acre which included with a small orchard, and multiple growing areas of fruits, vegetables, and perennial plants. In 2017 we bought a beautiful, rolling farm that includes both woods and pasture. We look forward to improving the land and feeding the community as we grow, while currently raising forest raised hogs, goats, ducks for duck eggs, and 100% grass -fed beef! Root and Sky Farm goal is to grow and raise just, delicious food that can help people eat in ways that align with their values. Our forest raised pork is organically fed (also Non-GMO) Berkshire hogs, that are supplemented with organic kelp & apple cider vinegar, and occasional back scratches. No antibiotics or hormones are used on our happy pigs. We rotate the pigs through our woods to remove invasive species, and give the pigs a variety of culinary options. We're taking deposits now for whole and half hogs, where more information can be found at our website. The forest raised pork will be processed in an USDA inspected plant. We now have added duck eggs to the farm! We supplement their foraging with organic feed to help with their laying. They spend the non-winter months in a moveable pen for protection from nightly predators. Root & Sky Farm also occasionally sells fruit and fruit plants as we prepare to establish a permaculture u-pick orchard.
