Saint Isidore's is a family farm enterprise that began in 2006. We breed and sell alpacas as well as products made from their fleece. To cultivate an exceptional herd, our approach has been to carefully select sires and dams from the most successful breeding programs to capitalize on their achievements. We have 15 alpacas now and plan to remain relatively small. Our alpacas exhibit outstanding fleece qualities, including excellent fineness, brightness, and well-defined crimp. In addition to fleece from our baby alpacas, ranging from 16.5 microns up to 20 (all in the Royal Baby fineness category), in white to light fawn, we offer wonderful fleece from our breeding females (white, fawn, and bay black) and geldings (lovely dark and medium brown). We sell raw fleece, yarn spun from our animals' fiber, and farm-made items made from our own yarn. At the 2009 MAPACA Jubilee, a large show in Pennsylvania, a skein made from one of our female's fiber won first place, with 95 out of 100 points (20 out of 20 for handle and 6 out of 6 for brightness). The same skein won third place at the 2009 AOBA National Show in Cleveland, Ohio. We are pleased to offer locally-raised alpaca fleece and products to fiber enthusiasts.
